  1. Has anyone started/Applied/Completed the RU RN to BSN program? It looks like it might be one of the only on line in state programs in Virginia. Any thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated. I know that ODU/VCU have some hybrid programs. JMU/UVA have classes also that need to be taken at the university. This is the first one that I have found but don't know anything about it. Thanks!!
  2. No, I agree. I am just trying to make sure that I can devote enough time to the program. I have a BS and I just got an AAS and am an RN so I am used to hard work. I am not used to working full time and getting my school work done though so I want to make sure that I have time for my family and work. Thanks for the input!! I appreciate it!
  3. I am looking at starting in March as well. I only have 9 classes to take to graduate. What are your thoughts on Chamberlain? I have heard it is writing intensive but do you know how difficult they grade the papers? I am not a great writer but I want my BSN. I dont line the cost of the program but I like that I can have it done quick. Has anyone done the Econ Class? I am a little apprehensive about this as well. Last question, if I sign the enrollment agreement I am not tied in to finish the program, right? I am always hesitant when people want things signed and returned so quickly!! Any thoughts?
  4. Ok, so am I understanding this correct....we are doing review now. We are going to take a predictor practice test and then the predictor the following day. It seems that most of your posts believe that if you pass the ATI with a 90 or higher than the chances are good that we will pass boards...is that right? I am terrified that I wont pass. I want to believe in ATI so any input would be greatly appreciated!!!
  5. I was scared at first but I have no doubts now. The first class is set to graduate in May. I know they are going to persue accredidations but can not do so until the first class has graduated. Good Luck.
  6. I think all the programs are competitive. Very competative. Good luck I am sure yo uwill make the right decision.
  7. No, the first class is still in session. The LPN pass rate several years ago was 100%. I think you are going to have to complete your pre-reqs first, but I would chat with them to see what you need. You dont want to spend any money your dont have to!! Good luck.
  8. I am in the second RN class. We only have 7 and we are getting ready to merge with the LPN to RN group and should have a class size of around 15. I was worried about the NLNAC accreditation at one time but most colleges will accept you...at least from my research. I took the pre-reqs at Germanna and the admission process is easy. I recommend calling sooner than later to get the ball rolling but I definitely would not rule out CTS. Hope this helps.
  9. Hey there, CTS is a good school. The class sizes are small and very fast! So keep your seat belt on. I am still in the program but it is growing like crazy. We were told a few weeks ago that admission is getting more difficult because of the demand. You dont need as many pre-reqs here as you do at Germanna. And the RN program is only 15 months long. I would recommend CTS. I took a lot of classes at GCC that no other schools require, and if you want to continue to get your BS you are going to have to go back and retake other classes (For example Chem for nursing doesnt transfer to most schools!) I am sure you will make the right choice. I would definately visit CTS and look what they have to offer before you discount it!
  10. I did not goto the GCC Nursing program but choose CTS instead. CTS requires less pre-requisites but costs 3x as much. CTS graduates in 15 months so you can make the money back that you spent. Good luck
  11. I am starting CTS at the end of the month. I have done a lot of searching and praying over this decision. I checked again today and from the July 2008 statistics CTS is still provisionally approved by the VA State Board of Nursing. They can not get full accredidation until their first class graduates. It is a lot of money but I have justified the money with the fact that we will graduate months before others schools making money. We can pay ourselves back the money that we have spent on the education and gas for the other local choices. Good luck with your decision. I am going to put my head in the books, ask a lot of questions and be happy with my choice. Good luck with yours!
