CT LPN schools

Published

Seeking some advice from CT residents. Working at a tech at a hospital in the state. I currently have a bachelor's degree, but after a few years in the healthcare field feel nursing is the direction I want to go for. A lot of the BSN and MSN programs are expensive and been looking into the Associate programs. However, the application deadline for most state community college programs is in February. I would still would have a lot of prerequisites to knock out, possibly miss the deadline. I was thinking of applying for an LVN program? Would that be a sound move? I know a few rehabs in the area have laid off LVNS. However, I see job openings from time to time for LVNs. I would finish LPN school by the time accepted into a nursing program.

Any advice on Vinal Tech? Heard they have an evening program I am from Beacon Falls know a bit of a hike to Middletown.

If I were to apply in the next application window and got accepted, assuming I start semester three, does that mean I wait two semesters to begin or I join in with the group that's about to begin their third semester?

So if you apply this fall for the community college programs (applications are accepted nov. 1-feb. 1) and you were accepted, assuming your advisor determines you can start in the bridge program and semester 3, you would begin fall 2016 after successful completion of the bridge course.

It is not guaranteed though, as there also needs to be available seats open in the program. This also depends on how many students do not pass semester 2 for seats to become available, and also how many other LPNs are placed in semester 3 with you.

Okay so I would essentially be joining in when everyone else that applied during that window would be starting their third semester.

Yes you would, but they cannot guarantee the seat and you may have to take the entire program or wait until the following year. It's all based on availability.

That's rough. I'm still considering school here in Orlando but they only take 20 per semester.

Know a few LPNs with bachelor's doing online RN or taking their BSN at the state college's. It is about an extra 2 or 3 semesters they been working part time during school. Go BSN if you can.
