Hey guys! Starting a new thread for this upcoming application cycle for CT community college nursing program! This will be my second time applying I was waitlisted last year at Northwestern #9 and I don't think they're going to be calling me off. (At the time of application, I did not have anp2 or micro completed) Feel free to post stats, ask questions etc..Applying is so stressful and nerve-wracking, we're in this together and good luck to everyone!

Stats:

Anp1, A-

Anp2, A-

Micro, A

TEAS-76

Nursing GPA 3.7

Hi! I applied to NVCC. Great GPA and TEAS! The wait is unbearable. Hurry up April!

Is it really as selective at they say 96/400 or is that an exaggeration? Also what is a good TEAS score and GPA to likely get accepted into the program?

It is pretty competitive. Instead of looking at your different grades individually, try figuring out your cumulative ranking:

(GPA×25×.5)+(A&P GPA×25×.25)+(TEAS×.25)= X

So you could get a 90 on your TEAS, but if your GPA is a 3.5 and you got an 85  in A&P1, then you'd have an 87.5.

If you only got a 60 on your TEAS but you have a 4.0 and a 4.0 in A&P, that equals a 90, and you'd be better off than the person who got a 90 on their TEAS.

I would reach to get around an 80, 85 to be safe ?

80,85 cumulative rank?

Technically you only need to meet all the requirements of the program and you'll have a 25% chance of getting in. If you don't want to leave it to luck, you'd probably want at least an 85% cumulative ranking. For reference, Brooke M and I are in the 90s if that helps.

Hey future nurses!

I'm applying to NCC this year and I heard that they are taking 96 students this year so hopefully it ups the chances!

GPA- 3.5

TEAS- 72.7

A&P- A

Rank-86%

Okay thanks and nursing GPA includes every class that I have a grade for on the nursing packet right? including pre reqs and co reqs?

also is elective included in nursing GPA, if so which one? is it automatically the elective with the highest grade?

Nursing GPA includes every course you have on your transcript, both prerequisite and corequisite courses, even transfer credits, they'll calculate into your nursing GPA.

I'm not certain but I think they take the elective with the highest grade.
