I'm applying to Capital Community College's program this November. I'm not too confident about my stats and I cannot find a winter AP I class to better my grade. Anyone else applying? Here are my stats...
Teas: 86.7
GPA: 3.27
AP1: B-

I got a 90.7 on the TEAS, but I'm already to take it again on the 31st, so I'm going to do my best to improve the score a bit. I got an A for A&P 1, but my nursing GPA is 3.63 so I don't want that to hurt me. Also, that GPA is from like seven different transcripts spread over almost 20 years, and though I'm 99% sure that is correct, hopefully that is what they'll come to also, I did review them with the adviser. Hope we both get in!
That's an awesome TEAS score!! You shouldn't be worried at all

Thanks! It's the gpa that worries me though, and idk how many are admitted to Capital. I didn't realize just how competitive it is! I just recently learned community colleges can be more difficult to get in to. And I've seen some older posts where scores similar to mine were waitlisted. I though Naugatuck and Three Rivers were hardest to get in, but it's really hard to search for specific info ?

It is hard to know where we stand but your GPA is definitely competitive! Where are you applying? I applied to NVCC. I was told it depends on what the application pool looks like so the competitiveness varies from year to year.

CCC, Capital Community College in Hartford. Yeah, it varies, but I'd love to know the percentages for the past few years so we could compare!

I drove myself crazy looking at threads on here from the previous years and it's still so hard to say ? would be nice to know what our rank percentage tells us but that's hard to tell what it means when you have nothing to compare it to. I guess the higher the better?
Remember ct cc rank 75% of applicants right? So when you calculate your overall score out of 100% clearly the higher your percentage the higher your chances. Keep in mind though that it still depends on the grades of each applicant. Also remember the teas is only worth 25% even if you get the entire 25% there is still 75% more.

I have spoken to Deans and advisers who gave me information on the applications. One adviser told me that for nvcc they mostly look at those with a 3.5 gpa and above. The Dean told me that last year the highest gpa was a 3.8. He did not mention the teas grade.
I spoke to a student who got in he said that most of his classmates had teas scores in the 50's. His was on the higher end an 88. He also added that he knew of people who were waitlisted at number 35 who got in. A friend of mine in the same year had a 60 on the teas exam and she got in her A&P grade and her nursing gpa was really high though.
Factors such as other school acceptances, failure to successfully complete A&P 2, or life can create avaiable seats for waitlisted applicants. Make certain to check that you have met all requirements in the (nursing requirements) tab on banner so that your application is complete.
CCC accepts 160 the last time I checked
Reading through other threads might help but I think that people who rank in the 80s and above are more likely to get in.

Anyway, thanks to your post I have my total percentage now. I am applying to CCC, but I'm wondering how you got the info on how many are accepted per class. I thought my scores were decent, I have a 93.05%, but after reading this thread I'm not so sure anymore. Do you know how to access previous percentages so we can see how we would stack up? I know they are variable, but still, I'd like to
160 the last time I asked.. Try searching for ct-ccnp on all nurses search tab.
@Monique C Mclean you have been so helpful. I recalculated my scores and have a 80.8%?
Teas: 86.7
Nursing gpa: 3.38 ?
API: B-
My nerves are at an all time high hearing about how they look for 3.5 and above GPAs??
