CT-CCNP 2019/2020 APPLICATION

Published

I'm applying to Capital Community College's program this November. I'm not too confident about my stats and I cannot find a winter AP I class to better my grade. Anyone else applying? Here are my stats...

Teas: 86.7

GPA: 3.27

AP1: B-

??

The waiting is killing me. I need to know now. But it will be next week for sure.

I have applied to Gateway nursing program I am not too confident about my TEAS score as it is not competitive but I am hoping I got lucky with the 25% lottery. I am keeping a positive mind but getting my hopes up.

You may never know. Dont beat yourself up though. These programs have a way of making you feel like nothing is ever good enough even when you did your 100% best. To be honest I'm not 100% confident myself. I worked hard for three years and one TEAS exam is making me feel like I did nothing right. At the end of the day there is always next year. Good luck!!

So true ? it's such a stressful process. My TEAS score is the reason I'm questioning my fate for this year ? everything else is great.

Thank you. I do appreciate it and you are absolutely right you can have all As on your pre requisites and feel like it was all for nothing because of the TEAS scores which is how I feel right now. I am going to pray that I got in but if not like you said there is always next year. If I do not get in I might try both Gateway and St. Vincent next year.

I got into Respiratory Therapy School but honestly I just don't want to do it. My heart is in Nursing and pursuing a docorate in CRNA. The thing is working as a CNA is very hard on the body. As much as I like caring for people I want to get out of that field. So if I dont get in I might just do Respiratory Therapy.

I understand where you are coming from I am doing CNA work as well and you are right it takes a toll on you body after a while but dont give up try to apply to more than one school that was my mistake this year I put all put all my eggs in one basket (I think that is how the saying goes LOL) Have you tried looking at other schools for nursing program?

I did. I looked into all Ct State schools. The thing is I would have to spend a few more years completing prerequisites to Apply. The private schools are ridiculously expensive, which would put me so deep in loans that in the long run I would only have a title and I wouldn't be able to benifit from what I would be making.

It's hard. My issue is the area of CT I live in, NVCC is the closest commute of 45 minutes for me to the waterbury campus. All the other CT community colleges are over an hour away which winds up being more with traffic ??

That is exactly how I am feeling which is why I am praying to get into Gateway because financial aid will pay for the entire program. I am giving myself one more year if I do not get in but it will require me to take a year off which I really do not want to do if I take even one more class I will have to pay for the end of the nursing program out of pocket because I am almost at my max with financial aid.

I'm hearing that some Schools in the south are canceling fall semester...... I'm scared

It seems like the same goes for all essential Summer biology classes. All biology classes at NVCC have been removed. If this pandemic subsides and regular classes resume for Fall some of us who haven't completed Microbiology will have to do it with Nursing 120. Smh. This virus is ruining all my plans.
