CSUSM ABSN Summer 2013 Temecula campus

Published

I figure I start a new thread for the Summer 2013. I just got accepted into the Summer 2013 Temecula campus. Well they sent me the conditional email today. Im so excited! For those of you who got accepted, any interested in rooming out there? Im looking for room mates. Please message me and we can work out something. For those of you who are still waiting, good luck!

Did they know you are in your last prereq this semester? They told me that they wouldn't be able to complete my application until I had completed all my prereq classes and they had an official transcript with all my prereq grades on it... I was taking physiology fall 2012 and had sent all my transcripts/teas score etc. and they sent me an evaluation but it wasn't until I had sent my transcript showing my physio grade in January that they were able to complete my evaluation and I just found out last week that I got in for summer

I actually mentioned that I was on my last prereq class and still gave me that same answer. But I'll see what they say when they evaluate everything. I am in no rush to enter for the summer because that would give me no time to be ready (I don't live in Temecula or near it).

Hi everyone,

I got accepted into the ABSN program about 2 weeks ago and I just found this forum. Awesome. I'm still deciding if I want to attend this school; I'm waiting on other schools and I got invited for an interview at Concordia University Irvine too. Trying to leave my options open. Best of luck to everyone!

Also, I have no idea if the summer cohort is full yet, but they sent the acceptance email quick!

Hi, I got accepted into the summer cohort! Congrats to everyone who got in! I can't find the Facebook group.. Can someone email me: [email protected]

Can someone message me the FB link as well? :)

Hi everyone! I don't know if this was already answered but does anyone know when the start date for the Summer cohort is? I already sent in an application, got my evaluation back, and am finishing up one last pre-requisite course. I'm planning to send my transcript in to CSUSM as soon as I'm done with my class in May but I wonder if it'll all be done in time to start during summer.

I'm wondering the same. I haven't gotten my evaluation back but they said I could be placed in the summer. That'll be so cool to start sooner.

@ lolibear:

Summer semester starts June 1, 2013, according to Academic Calendars

I'm not sure when the actual classes we will be taking will start, because the schedule is not available yet; but assume they will start sometime during the first week of June.

As far as whether there will be enough time for you to get into Summer semester with an in-progress class... I tried applying to Spring 2013 cohort when I had pre-nursing core classes in progress in Fall 2012, but the program advisors told me that they cannot rank you until the pre-nursing core classes are complete. See Pre-Nursing Core for the required pre-nursing core classes.

I have 2 classes in progress this semester, sociology and human development, but they are not pre-nursing core classes; and I have been admitted to the program for Summer. So it all depends on whether your in-progress class is a nursing core class or not. Therefore, if the last prereq you will be completing this semester is a pre-nursing core class, you will likely be pushed back to Fall 13 rather than get in Summer 13.

Yeah, I am in my last pre-nursing core which is the integrated introductory, organic, and biological chemistry. Thank you for the info. I was wondering about it. I don't mind starting in the fall because it'll be definitely too stressful to start a week after finals. However, I had one more question...in the pre-nursing core that notes the mathematics requirement, on the additional requirement section, it said the same thing for statistics. Did they mean they'll count statistics towards both requirements or you could use another math class to fulfill the CSU B4 GE? Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the info absn hopeful!

@ ehlehnah - It looks like we're in the same boat. I'm also finishing up the integrated introductory, organic, and biological chemistry this semester and wouldn't mind enjoying my summer/waiting until fall to start if I get accepted.

As far as the mathematics requirements go, they used an Intro to Statistics course I took at a community college for the Statistics lecture requirement (under "Support Courses," meaning the ones that are okay to be completed before your 3rd semester actually in the program) but for the Pre-Nursing core courses they counted Math 1A, a different math course I took during my undergrad. It was just a Pre-Calc course. So it doesn't necessarily HAVE to be your stats course that you took, though I think it could be.

I hope this helps answer your question... and maybe I'll see you in fall!

Thank you...I was actually relieved about it because I took Pre-Calc as well on top of Statistics. I definitely did better in Pre-Calc so I was hoping that that would be calculated into my GPA.

How do you feel about the integrated chemistry class? Its not bad so far since the last exam was probably the hardest of all the things we are going over. Definitely hope to see you in the fall!

I'll PM you the forum for the fall 2013 cohort...its pretty empty as far as who's on it.

Hi everyone! I just received my conditional acceptance today for the summer 2013 cohort in temecula and I'm sooooooo excited! I was pretty surprised how quickly I heard back from them bc I submitted everything on April 2 and I received the conditional acceptance email today, April 15.

I also just ordered a background check today so hopefully ill get the final ok on my acceptance soon! Who else has received acceptance emails?

Does anyone know if there's a FB for the 2013 cohort 16?
