CSUSM ABSN Summer 2013 Temecula campus

U.S.A. California

I figure I start a new thread for the Summer 2013. I just got accepted into the Summer 2013 Temecula campus. Well they sent me the conditional email today. Im so excited! For those of you who got accepted, any interested in rooming out there? Im looking for room mates. Please message me and we can work out something. For those of you who are still waiting, good luck!

Never mind! It was just the evaluation forms. I get it now. Just wondering if anyone has had a situation in which a course was listed as "NEED" but a course taken at another institution was really an equivalent course? Has contacting CSUSM and providing a course description from where the course was taken helped anyone remedy that type of situation without having to retake a the same course over due to a different title? Thanks!

I printed my syllabus of the course because I guess that's the only way they can approve that it's the equivalent course. They didn't offer a statistics course for nursing majors so the class I took was a general statistics course which all of the pre-nursing school took. Hope that helps!

Thank you! Luckily the Biology Dept from my undergrad university had a copy of the Spring 2006 syllabus for the course. E-mailed it to my CSUSM evaluator. Fingers crossed for good news soon! Thanks for your input :)

I sat with my evaluator and had to clarify that 3 of my classes I took were equivalents of the 3 they were saying I needed. After that it was a couple weeks and I got in so definately "argue" and bring course descriptions.

Thank you! Glad to hear it worked out for you :) Way to be persistent! Hopefully the syllabus I sent for the course suffices for convincing my evaluator because I'm about 2000 miles away, and while I would make the trip, I'd prefer not to have to rush out there. Trying to squeeze in as much working as I can before school starts.

Sorry for the recent posting blitz! I tried to find a CSUSM Fall 2013 thread but the only one I found seemed pretty inactive. So while I know this is the Summer 2013 thread, has anyone heard about offers of acceptance into the Fall 2013 cohort? Also wondering if anyone knows what the Cal State system is like with regard to reclassification of residency? I was a NY resident for all of my 27 years until I moved to FL last summer for med school, at which point I switched to FL residency, but I'll have no remaining ties to FL at all once I leave so I wouldn't be able to claim residency in any state. Since this program is six terms, being able to reclassify as in-state at any point in the program would be helpful. Thanks for any insight!

The ABSN program is handled through Extended Learning so tuition is not the same as for regular students. In the case of ABSN Nursing, it is currently $420/classroom unit and $535/clinical unit. My point is that the tuition for this specific program is already higher than the regular non-resident fees which are $372/unit. I don't think it matters if you are a Calif. resident or not. It is worth double checking though.

I was also wondering if anyone has heard anything for the Fall 2013 cohort?

I received a conditional acceptance today for the Fall 2013 ABSN temecula campus. I am beyond excited!! Anyone else who get accepted congrats and I cannot wait to meet all of you!

does anyone know how I start a new thread? I want to start a thread for Fall 2013 temecula but I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks!

Residency doesn't matter for the ABSN program at CSUSM because the program is based on "self-support" tuition, meaning the State of CA does not subsidize program fees. You will pay the same amount per credit regardless of residency, which as of summer 2013, increased to $450 per lecture unit and $575 per clinical unit.
