CSUSB BSN Fall 2020

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create this forum so we could share stats, ask/answer questions, and talk about the admissions process. When I went to the past informational meeting they said the following stats were for the past year admittance:

  1. Average overall GPA: 3.7
  2. Average Pre-Req GPA: 3.53
  3. Average Overall TEAS: 85.5%
  4. 300 qualify for application review and 45-50 are accepted

My stats are

  1. Overall GPA: 3.843
  2. Pre-Req GPA: 3.861 (assuming I end Bio 223 with an A which is what I have right now)
  3. TEAS: 87.3%
  4. Bilingual
  5. County Resident

I wonder since they extended the deadline, how long is it going to take to let us know whether we get accepted or not! 

I called last week and the receptionist said that they are going to try to keep all other dates the same, so to let us know before June 1st.

I believe the workers still attend work but students are the ones that can’t go on campus. Yes! I thought more people would be in this thread too and I started one because I didn’t even see one for the fall 2020 application.

Hi All,

I am applying to CSUSB (palm desert campus) and my GPA is 3.72

However, I was scheduled to take my TEAS in March, but it got canceled. Now, I am having trouble finding anywhere (looked all through CA) to find somewhere that is still open, but seems like all places offering the TEAS are closed. Is anyone having the same problem??

Hey, so sorry to hear this. I'm sorry I'm not able to help... Hope you find a way to take the TEAS. I would definitely try to email the nursing department to see if they have any recommendations.

Hello. I hear a lot of the TEAS tests are being rescheduled or cancelled. I’m so sorry, have you emailed the nursing department and see what they recommend? I know someone who said she is about to finish all her pre reqs but since she needs her TEAS and it keeps getting cancelled, she is going to have to apply till next year. The deadline for the department to receive your TEAS score is May 8th I think. Keep us up to date!

I was having the same problem too. I signed up for the TEAS two times and they both got cancelled. I think I’m going to apply for the Spring quarter.

Thanks, it is a huge bummer. I also have EVERYTHING completed, except the TEAS that I was going to take in early March but kept getting canceled. I sent an email out to the nursing department and they sent me the generic “It has been moved to May 8th” and not much more. It has been really devistating to me, especially because I had high hopes I’d finally start nursing school after 2 years of doing pre reqs.

I’ll try and message you. Have you reached out to the nursing department!?! I think they’d be more flexible with the requirement if a lot of people are having this issue. I wish they would just waive the TEAS this semester, like how all the UC’s waived the requirement for the SAT/ACT.

Hello, I have a quick question. I am a transfer student, and I just received an email today saying that I was accepted into the Nursing - Prenursing program at CSUSB. I was wondering if anyone knows when we will be notified if we got admitted to the BSN program?

Hi,

I got that email too about a month ago. I'm a transfer student as well. Have you submitted your secondary application? We're supposed to find out if we get into the program the beginning of June or so, but with this situation going on, who knows!

Have you already applied to the nursing department directly? What's your stats? I think if you scroll up from here someone mentioned that the nursing dept is still trying to keep the notices around June timeframe.
