CSUSB BSN Fall 2020

Published

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create this forum so we could share stats, ask/answer questions, and talk about the admissions process. When I went to the past informational meeting they said the following stats were for the past year admittance:

  1. Average overall GPA: 3.7
  2. Average Pre-Req GPA: 3.53
  3. Average Overall TEAS: 85.5%
  4. 300 qualify for application review and 45-50 are accepted

My stats are

  1. Overall GPA: 3.843
  2. Pre-Req GPA: 3.861 (assuming I end Bio 223 with an A which is what I have right now)
  3. TEAS: 87.3%
  4. Bilingual
  5. County Resident

This has gotten pretty ridiculous.

I agree.. I understand these are rough times and work is limited but I would think March-June would be enough time. It makes me think there was a ton of applicants.

Same here. It’s also just been all over the place trying to contact the nursing dept in general. At least in my experience they haven’t responded to any questions or inquiries Via email since I first decided to apply there. That issue started well before covid

I have tried emailing them multiple times about questions not particularly about the application and just the program in general that the regular advising people can’t answer for me. I’ve gotten no response.

Its possible that many students waited until May deadline to submit their application... but they should worked on organizing the ones submitted early.

I don’t think its that hard to at least make an excel sheet to keep track of all of the students’ stats...

Have you asked your friend who sits on the board meetings what's going on?

She doesn’t sit in the meetings but she knows some people that she can ask for the status. She asked around today as was told that this is the first time the department is working with admissions. Admission office is the one that will directly email us about getting in the program or not. Previous its the nursing department who emails us. IDK why they switched all the sudden, its not like they don’t have access to our contact info. Nonetheless this is frustrating. We know for sure we will know before the due date (July 1) but that is in less than 2 weeks.

I’m going camping for a few days before the due date, so hopefully I get the email soon before or else I won’t have the internet to turn in my stuff...

Can we email out final grades/ transcripts or do they want sealed ones? If they want sealed mailed ones it might not make it on time.

Check your emails!
