CSUS Nursing Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

I'm creating this forum for a discussion of the new nursing program admission change for Spring 2019. After some strong feedback from applicants for Fall 2018, the CSUS school of nursing has, once again, updated the criteria for entrance. Please leave any thoughts, comments, and concerns!

I am personally applying for Spring 2019 admission so I'd love to hear your thoughts on the changes as well!

Hello! I am applying for spring 2019. Im a bit nervous about the criteria and point change because I don't know where I stand or what my chances would now be. What points are people applying with? For now I have 70; however, I will be retaking my TEAS on Friday so I'm hoping to get a little more points in that area.

Augustinam, nice to meet you virtually! :) I am also coming in with 70 points. I would like to assume that we are in good standing with the new criteria (as, if I remember correctly, 70 points would theoretically be equivalent to a 100 on the TEAS and a 4.0 GPA, not including any optional criteria). However, I've met plenty of students with a point total higher than 70, so I am not too sure how I feel about my chances for Sac State's nursing program. A bit odd- if the point cutoff is greater than a 70, it would seem that the optional criteria is not truly "optional," but rather necessary for admission. It really depends on Spring 2019's applicant pool... so it is definitely too soon to make any calls. I wish you good luck on your TEAS retake!

Does anyone know which TEAS score they use in the points calculation? Like do they take your highest score, most recent score, or an average?
