CSUS Fall '11 Hopefuls....??

U.S.A. California

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone is/has applied to CSUS for Fall '11. If so, what are your points looking like? How did you do on the TEAS exam (pretty tough huh?) I want to compare info!!! :D

@BrookeLoraine - I would so love to think that, but I will wait to see how it goes. My first thought is who would turn down an offer?? But it happens.

@Lexy - it no longer matters what your stats were, you have the offer!

Congratulations to all of you! I am so excited for everyone. :)

I am graduating from Sac State nursing next month. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was waiting for my email. You are in for an incredible experience. It's a huge amount of work (which I am still most definitely in the midst of) but I am so incredibly happy that I went back for my nursing degree. I was born to do this work, and the preparation I've received at Sac State has exceeded my expectations. Like anything, you will only get out of the experience whatever you are willing to invest, but the resources are there to make each and every one of you successful.

Best of luck!

(One of the reasons that Sac winds up taking so many from the waiting list is that many Bay Area students apply to Sac State as a back-up school. If they get their first pick out in the Bay they don't need to move out here to Sac.)

@mt2544 - I am in the Bay Area but would love to move out to Sac! What is the timeline for finishing up school and taking the NCLEX? I assume the BRN has to process applications, do you know how long that usually takes and when people can usually sit for the exam?

After the semester ends the university has to verify we've met all requirements and then post our degrees. Then the staff in the nursing department brings the necessary paperwork directly to the Board of Registered Nursing. (We already mailed in our payments and preliminary paperwork a month or two ago.) After the BRN checks the paperwork, apparently they will notify us that we are eligible to sit for the exam. My understanding is that I will probably be able to take the NCLEX by late June. (But I'm not positive.)

Hope that helps!

Thanks! That helps!

@runningrn2be

I can receive PMs, but I can't yet reply to any (I don't have enough posts thus far). If you're comfortable sending me your personal email address through a PM I'd be happy to correspond with you that way.

Michelle

on my email it said "dear bsn candidates, we had a few it glitches and are running a little behind—hope to finish by 8:30. thank you for your patience. t."

did anyone else get this email? =( i still have not received the status on my application!

She did say that if you hadn't heard by 7:00 to email with ADM in the subject. Since it is past 8:30, I would go ahead and email to be safe. Unless you are a second bachelors, you would need to know whether or not you are accepted by tomorrow. I feel for the admissions staff, it must have been a really long day. (And I feel for those still waiting!)

I got in!! Woohhoooo! I am so excited to meet all of you and start the program!

@ Lexy S...the same thing happened to me! My stats were lower because they took off 5 points for a sociology class i repeated forever ago!

Good Luck to everyone on the waitlist and that have still not heard back, my fingers are crossed for you!

Oaktown2, do you mind letting me know what your total points were? I am applying for Spring 2012. I am trying to find out what the cutoff was.

the cutoff for fall 2011 was 56.

So Fall 2011 cutoff was exactly the same as Fall 2010?
