CSULB Spring 2022

Published

Hello everyone!

I couldn't find a forum for this year's pre-nursing students that are applying to CSULB so I made one myself! Anyway, I know I'm not the only one who wants to compare scores or see if their scores are competitive, so here it is...

I'll start it off...

GPA (SCIENCE) : 3.7 = 3.7 pts

GPA (GE) : 4.0 = 2 pts

TEAS OVERALL : 87% = 1.74

TEAS READING : 86% = 1.72

TOTAL POINTS = 9.16 pts

Im planning to retake the TEAS for the THIRD TIME and try to get 90%+ on both, and yes, Chemistry messed me up, ifykyk.

Sorry if my english/grammar is trash, its my lowest score on the TEAS ^_^

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED.. DO NOT LOSE HOPE!! WE ALL GOT THIS ❤️

Geez I thought my academic resume was pretty competitive but yall are freaking geniuses ?

Here are my stats:

GE GPA: 4 / 2 = 2

Science GPA: 4

TEAS overall: 90.0 x 0.02 = 1.8

TEAS reading: 85.1 x 0.02 = 1.702

= 9.502

Also side question: I haven't started the supplemental app yet, but for those that did, in the section where they ask you for your grades in the CSULB science prereqs (with their specific course names listed), did yall just plug in your grade for the equivalent class from your college?

yes, the supplemental is for transfer students so they want your grades for the major you're applying to! those class listed from CSULB are just examples for those specific prereqs

Just to add on: for CSULB's Chem 140 fill-in section, my college required two different Chemistry courses combined to fulfill that Chem 140 requirement. Is there a section where I can report the grades for both classes, or do you think that I should just put in the average (I got an A in both so I can just put A but it may be confusing for other students at my college who got different grades for those 2 courses)?

Hmm, I'm actually in the same situation as you. I took a chem series (3 classes) at my UC that fulfilled the Chemistry prerequisite, so I don't really know if I'm supposed to take the avg or not. I've sent a ticket for enrollment services, but they still haven't replied yet ??‍♀️ maybe you should also send a ticket as well!

Sorry, but what do you mean by "ticket"? Do you mean email? I've sent an email to them but they have yet to reply.

So I asked the nursing school about the supplemental application, and they told me that questions regarding the supplemental application need to go to the enrollement services. So, I called enrollment services yesterday about my situation, and the lady couldn't help me and directed me to send a "ticket" (https://www.csulb.edu/enrollment-services/join-the-queue-admissions) for admissions since that is the best way to get in contact with them ??‍♀️ I also made an appointment with an admissions advisor as well. But, if you were able to send them a message, then it should be fine?

Not sure...I'll try to contact enrollment services too. Please let us know if you get a response! Hopefully we'll know ASAP so we can just edit our supplemental application before the 21st.

Will do! Unfortunately, the closet date I could get for an appointment is the 15, so you might have to wait till then unless the school replies before that

Does anybody know about this statement

Prerequisites in the social sciences (anthropology, communication studies, economics, education, geography, history, law, linguistics, political science, psychology, sociology) must have been taken within the past 10 years.

Is it OK to use an older psychology class for the "Support course" ? It's not an actual prerequisite but it's under support course. Do you think I still need to retake it? Or I should be OK? I can't get a straight answer from any counselor ?

What do you mean by "older psychology class"? Did you take it more than 10 years ago or...?

Hi everyone!

Here are my stats:

GE GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 3.85 (not sure if I calculated that correctly I got all A's in my science pre reqs except for anatomy I got a B ? ).

TEAS overall: 92%

TEAS reading: 89.4%

Total points (if calculated correctly): 9.478

Do you guys think I have a chance? Everyone else seems to have much higher scores. Should I consider retaking the TEAS?

Hello everyone,

Hope you guys are having a wonderful week!

I have a question regarding the application. This Spring 2022 will be my 2nd time, and I was rejected earlier for FAll 2021. From what I know, we're allowed to apply up to only 2 times. So, does that mean if I get rejected again, this means I won't be able to apply for another term right? I haven't submitted the Supplemental Application yet (because I just retook the TEAS and got 81.4%-not competitive enough). If I did not submit it, does it count as a rejection toward my 2nd attempt?

Thanks!

Why would you not submit the supplemental application? It doesn’t ask for the TEAS score. It’s not related to the nursing department, it’s just for the admissions to deal with.
