CSULB Spring 2012 BSN

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm applying for CSULB this Spring, transferring from Palomar College. Just finish all of the application today. Anyone else applies this Spring? Good luck to us all :yeah:

I have my interview on Monday the 10th at 11:00am! I'm excited!

I'm assuming that approximately 27-30 people are getting interviewed per hour on Monday and Tuesday, which means that is at least a total of 270 people.. and only 90 have a spot. I'm not feeling to hot about this upcoming interview. =\ Someone lift my spirits!! (This is all an assumption my friend had, but it seems right..)

@ Ks11 - I believe they interview 110 applicants and 90 are chosen

Yeah, I heard about that too, but on the second e-mail ---- sent said there are no extra slots. I really hope that you're right though. @ Pre-nursing gal how many people are in your group?

ks11 - i interviewed for a previous application term. this is my second time applying so I don't have to interview again, but I rememeber there were 4 other girls on my group.

What did the second email say? Are you referring to extra slots for interviews?

OH WHEW. PRE- NURSING GAL I LOVE YOU! Okay, well in the e-mail ---- said there are no extra slots so there would be no rescheduling.

yeah, i don't think they would do 30 people per hour... I heard it was more like 5-10 per group. And let's say there are about 8 groups per day (that is just a guess, reg work day 8-5 with lunch break for interviewers), that is at MOST 160 (figuring 10 per group). But as pre-nursing gal said, there was only 5 in her group. this is my HOPE!

@ PRE-NURSING GAL: Do you happen to remember what topic was discussed in the small group interview?

@ ZAR: During my time, there's a total of 30, but they get split up into smaller groups for group activities.

(= I hope so too! haha. Damn, I need to calm down.

don't stress about the interview...I hear it's pretty chill and fun and not stressful at all..They just want to make sure that we can write coherently and communicate in English well. Often applications are filled with wonderful grades and test scores, but don't reflect someone's ability to communicate in English. This info is from the coordinator herself... the best thing you can do is just relax and participate in the discussions and then wait for your acceptance letter!

They generally invite 110 to interview and offer 90 spots, so your odds are pretty good. Some applicants' English is so terrible that they just won't be successful and others choose other schools, so even if you are an alternate, you have a good chance of being offered a spot.... Relax everyone and enjoy yourself!

Pre- Nursing gal,

I also interviewed for a previous application term so I don't have to interview this time either.. Have you received an email or anything from the nursing department? I was just told that my application was going to be deferred until after they held these interviews.. When I turned in my application, Mona Lisa said she was going to try and get an email together for the people who already interviewed but I don't think she did...
