Hello there!
I would love to start a thread of those applying for CSULA's ABSN program for summer 2019. I was hoping we could give each other some support and hopefully get to know each other a bit before starting school! I'm a little worried as I hear that the program is super competitive and I don't have many volunteer hours or experience. Is this a deciding factor in the decision process?

It's my first time posting as well & I also just had my interview not too long ago. I didn't have much previous clinical experience so, fingers-crossed, hope I still got in. Btw, did anyone obtain their CPR (BLS) Cert. and Fire Card together, as in on the same day?
Hello! I’m actually in a similar boat as you. I’m getting super antsy waiting to hear back as CSULA is my top choice. Also, I didn’t get the fire card on the same day of my CPR cert. It says on the projected budget sheet that fees vary depending on the test site too, so I was wondering if they’d provide us with a list of site options for getting it done prior to starting the program (e.g., during orientation)?

I was offered an interview last Thursday, so it seems like Dr. Hinoki is still reviewing applications! The very last interview slot seems to be March 2nd.

Thank you for clearing this up! I got the email today and was wondering. Glad I checked the thread!

Agreed, it is very stressful. Inputting my transcripts took forever since my previous bachelor's degree is from out of state, lol. Have you gotten your PIN yet?
I thought the email said we didn't need to input transcripts? So I did not. I did that once for another Cal State Apply, and it took forever (and I went to a California school!)- I feel you there. I have my pin, but it doesn't seem to really get me anywhere- I can log in to GET and see class schedules, but not for anything really useful (like summer). So I'm on pins and needles in wait mode! We're all in the same boat, good luck to everyone!

Wow, reading is fundamental. I could have saved myself half a day, lol. ? I think I was so nervous/excited that I missed that part! Oh well. Thanks for letting me know about the pin and GET. We're all in the waiting game together!??

I just submitted my cal state apply today- did you guys get a pin and a GET email after submitting your cal state application? Also what is pin and GET?

Yes, you will get an email shortly- first one will come to say thanks for applying, and that you will get the PIN, and then you get the PIN email with instructions about how to log into GET (Golden Eagle Territory), CSULA's online student interface. I just logged on to mine and saw an update in my "to do list," that basically looks like they have my transcripts (like @fan005 said, we don't need to submit them again- we sent two sets for a reason). Nothing else, just that they are there. Pins and needles, guys!!
