Hello! I was just wondering if anyone out there has applied to the CSULA ELMN program for Fall 2009? Maybe we can discuss what everyone's heard about their application, interviews, TEAS scores, etc.
:wink2:
Hi LovinNP!
When I talked to her about scheduling my interview, I got the idea that she was doing them on Saturdays. I believe that she is actually going to be interviewing everyone herself, but I don't know if it will be done in groups or individually. She even gave me the option of doing the interview in person or by phone (since I live far away), which I thought was nice of her. It doesn't sound like anyone else has interviewed, so I assume that March 7th is going to be the first day.
Good luck to everyone still waiting for news!!!
Hi ZooGurl!
Let's hope so, LoL. You know, what surprised me about this whole process was how nice Kathy Hinoki is. I've called her several times and she's been really nice and helpful (even when she told me about the whole 2010 thing). It's redoubled my hopes of getting in. Especially since I've read posts on here about how some schools are snarky even.
I wish you luck! From your past posts, I'm sure you'll do great.
mnguy,

It's actually a miracle I'm still in the running because I took the TEAS test late. I had talked to Ms. Hinoki and she had said that the deadline was stated on the app was Jan 31 for the TEAS test. After Ms. Hinoki told me I would have to wait until the next year, 2010, we hung up and I cried. I pulled it together and started looking for the TEAS deadline on the CSULA paperwork and didn't find it. So I called back (kinda frantically actually) to ask her if she could point it out. At this pt, it was mostly to reenforce that I was careless and overlooked it. When she called back and told me that it wasn't actually there and that since my grades were "competitive" I could still take the TEAS but ASAP. So I took it 2 days later. I was Over the Moon!
This was seriously an accomplishment because normally I would NEVER have even tried to fight for it (mostly cuz I'm intimidated) but I want this so bad. Especially CSULA because I've heard so many great things about their program/staff on this website and from people who went to CSULA.
