CSULA ABSN Summer 2022

Published

Hello! I couldn't find any new posts for CSULA's ABSN program so I figured I would start one if anyone would like to share updates. I mailed in my application a little before Christmas, confirmed it had been picked up "by a person from postal facility" according to USPS.

I haven't heard anything from CSULA, wondering if anyone has gotten confirmation for their application materials?

I wish they would sent out the interview invites all at once? At this point, I would just want to know if I got one or not

@pluto I feel the exact same way.

Does anyone know if not getting an interview means that there’s 0 chance of getting into the program??

I got an interview too so good luck to the other ones here who worked hard to get to this point! ?

From my experience CSULA has been very organized and def not about making the most money at the expense of the student. Other schools will not even communicate with you through the process. Be patient and remember no news is good news. It's a process.

Anyone else have trouble logging into GET?

From what I’ve read in the threads of former years… of the 60ish people interviewed, 30 are selected for the cohort and then some (not sure how many) are asked if they would like to join the waitlist.

Do you think they’re still reviewing applications for interviews?? ?

I think at this point it’s safe to assume that if you haven’t been notified for an interview by now, you most likely will not. Another commenter said that one of interviewers mentioned they were interviewing up until Mid-March and decisions come out the 25th. I know it sucks, but you also have to remember California schools are super competitive and the staffing shortages especially with COVID doesn’t help either.

I just got an interview email at 12PM today for the 17, 18, or 19th! Thought sharing my stats would be helpful:

Pre-requisite GPA: 3.71

Last 60 units: 3.69

TEAS: 97.3 %

CNA at a hospital since December

160 Hospital volunteer hours at the time of app submission (same place I work LOL)

I also completed the recommended classes (Human Development, Cultural Anthropology, and Human Nutrition

I feel like those that were told to apply to the school are accepted? IDK… I’m just gonna assume that, but still kinda weird. Other schools like Long Beach and fullerton have both gotten back to me but they start in the fall. Just very weird this application cycle with csula.

Can anyone provide me with some insight on what the interview process is like? I have my interview this week. What kind of questions do they ask? Is it a group interview with other students and how long is it?

For those of you who have accessed GET > Self-serve ? Student Center, under the to do list, do you see "transcripts- initiated" ?

I am confused by this not sure if this means they haven't received the transcripts or if it means it is already done?

Thanks in advance if anyone knows
