Hello Everyone,
I noticed a forum hadn't been made for this year's application cycle, so I decided to start one :) I just submitted my application via mail on Wednesday. Hope to hear back from the program with an interview invite! Good luck to everyone who is applying this cycle!
Emercat, that's amazing! I turned in my application on January 6th, in person as well. I got my confirmation email January 21st. Still waiting for an interview invite. Like you said before, they were sending out invites throughtout February, so fingers crossed!Best of luck to you! You must be an amazing applicant! What were your statistics?
Mal27, thank you! Good luck to you too! I think priority might be given to candidates with certain backgrounds, especially those with prior experience in the field. I have 4.5 years of experience as an EMT (prehospital & ER settings). I think that probably helped a lot.
TEAS: 99th percentile
Prereq GPA: ~3.8
Overall GPA: ~3.7
B.A. from a UC
How are your stats? What other programs are you all applying to?
p.s. I just finally figured out how to reply to a specific message. Took me a while.

Emercat, you definitely seem qualified, especially in terms of experience! 4.5 years as an EMT is a long time.
TEAS: 99th percentile
Nursing GPA: 4.0
Undergrad GPA: 3.77
Experience: volunteer in a hospital for around 375 hours and continuing. Long time volunteer for pediatric oncology camp.
I'm also applying to CSUSM, Fullerton, Sacramento, and Chico plus LA Harbor College. What other programs are you applying to? Do you know what field you want to practice in?

That's great experience in the field. Do you want to work with kids in the future?
I definitely wanna stay in emergency or ICU. Preferably ED. Once I have my NP I would like to work in an ED fast track area (all the lower acuity patients). I also want to get into education sometime in my career, so that's something I'll pursue once I have some experience as a nurse.
I'm applying to CSUSM, APU, Concordia University in Irvine, and MSMU.

Thanks! I hope it's enough experience; still waiting on an interview invite. Have you had your interview yet?
Potentially pediatrics, but also thinking of ICU and maybe CRNA in the future.
Very cool! Fast track is good for NPs. Education is in high demand too, so it would be great to give back to the nursing community in that respect.
Are the programs you applied to all accelerated bachelors or are some entry level masters?

APU is the only ELM I'm applying to. I was gonna apply to UCLA but it didn't seem like a good fit for me after I researched their program.
I did too! Yay! Since the deadline for that app is 2/28/17, I bet that everyone who was invited to interview is also being invited for fill out the application (but just a guess?)......
I just got an invitation to interview this evening! Glad to hear some communication back from the program after waiting! @ru11, I think that's a good hypothesis. :)
