Hello Everyone,

I noticed a forum hadn't been made for this year's application cycle, so I decided to start one :) I just submitted my application via mail on Wednesday. Hope to hear back from the program with an interview invite! Good luck to everyone who is applying this cycle!

I received the application confirmation and the CSU Mentor application email but haven't heard about any interview. Anyone else on the same boat? I heard they only interview the most qualified applicants so it's making me a little worried.

I'm confused. Did you guys fill out the CSUmentor application for the university in November? The instructions stated that you need to apply for CSU Mentor by Nov. 28 (deadline), and then submit the paper application packet separately to the department.

I'm not sure if they even reviewed my application yet because I sent 2 transcripts with my packet (1 for Admissions Dept and 1 for the program application), and admissions emailed me stating that they needed me to send in my official transcripts to Admissions Dept for admittance to the university.

Hey ICUtech--Cindy, the application instructions stated to not apply to the university during the regular application cycle (Oct 1 - Nov 28) and wait for an email regarding specific instructions on applying to the university. I would guess Admissions emailed you about your transcripts because you applied to the university during the regular cycle. Have you gotten a confirmation email about your application?

Oh wow, yeah totally missed that part of it. I rushed to get my app in, it was super last min. But yes, I did receive an application confirmation email. But my guess is that they likely scheduled their planned interviews already. I interviewed at Samuel Merritt, just hoping and praying that I get an acceptance. Good luck to everyone!

Maybe follow up with Cindy to see if you still need to send in transcripts?

I just got an interview invite yesterday night. From last year's thread, someone who was accepted got an interview invite Feb 25, so there's still hope!

Hey Atemplo! I looked at last year's forum, and there was someone who was invited for an interview on February 25th and was accepted to the program. There's still hope for you! :)

hi everyone! i applied right before the deadline and got an interview invite 3 days later. does anybody know if we're suppose to complete all of our vaccines/drug tests before the april orientation or the start of the program? i had so many questions but was so nervous during the interview i hardly asked any!

Just got this morning the CSU Mentor instruction email also. No interview request though.

In the past, has anyone been accepted to the program without an interview? If not, hoping for an interview request soon.

I just received the CSU Mentor application also, but have not gotten an interview invite as of yet. Does anyone know if they send the Mentor application invite to everyone, or if it is just to people that they plan on interviewing? I hate to spend the $55 if I am not even going to be interviewing!

i'm pretty sure nobody has been accepted without an interview. it's one of their requirements for admission. i did read about somebody that never got an interview invite but was later asked to come in for a meeting when a spot opened up. but technically the meeting was the interview.

i think they send it to everyone. but from stalking the past year's thread, i learned that the consensus was that even though you get the application sent to you, you don't submit it until you're accepted into the program. this confused me though because during my interview, i was told to submit it ASAP. maybe they changed things?

I also received the CSU Mentor application instructions, and have not been invited for an interview (yet, hopefully). I had to email them the syllabus for my cultural anthropology course so that they could verify that it meets the requirement. I'm hoping it clears and I hear back from them soon.

I emailed Cindy on Friday to ask if interview notices are still going out, and she said yes.
