Hey just submitted my application and was curious what everyone’s stats were…
Im still finishing up my last prereqs this semester but right now I have overall 3.93 GPA and about 3.69 GPA for sciences (1 B) and for TEAS I got 86.7 but might retake in december
I did not know this was the first time they were doing this. I so happen to just apply to all the CSU I could.
Does anyone know how they will be checking for language? During the interview asking questions or do they require classes for this?
I have 84 points I speak spanish but not fluently, I could have 90 points depending on how the language is checked by them.
I was wondering about the language too, actually. I didn't see anywhere on the supplemental application to provide any kind of documentation for that.
I took French in high school and I know the transcripts will qualify me as "proficient" for some other applications, but CSUF doesn't really specify what qualifies as proficient.

I emailed them. Because I took Spanish at my community college. And I do translate at my hospital but I wouldn’t consider my self “fluent”.
But I’ll get back to everyone and let them know what they told me !! ?
Hello,
As noted on our website, applicants will learn more about this within the nursing application.
This is what I got emailed back. I can’t view the application right now I’m not sure if it’s because I’m at work and the service is horrible. Has anyone completed the online application?

that's a little odd, because the only part of the application where I see any mention of foreign language is in the "personal information" section. It just asks if you have proficiency in a second language, but I don't see anything suggesting we need to upload documentation.
maybe they're trusting us to accurately self-report? or maybe they're expecting to see language classes on our college transcripts if we mark ourselves as proficient? but that still wouldn't explain how they want native speakers to document their second language skills...
when you emailed them, how did you word the question exactly?

This is the email I sent
Hi Good-afternoon,
I was looking through the language proficient points and I was wondering how do you determine that? I speak Spanish proficient not fluently, I can get by with conversations, I do speak Spanish with my family and I work as a CNA so I can translate, but I was wondering is Spanish 102 a requirement for this any class or during the interview?
Please and thank you.

Yeah that's super odd to me too. I have the same question too, since I went through K-12 in a foreign country, taught in another language. Well, we'll see soon, right?
When are you gals planning to submit the supplemental?
my semester is over in a couple of weeks, so I'm definitely going to wait until I can upload an updated transcript, especially since I have some science prereqs in progress this semester. then I have to order my archived AP scores, which is supposed to take something like 15 business days... I'm hoping to send an order out for that sometime in the next week. I'm hoping to have everything together to submit in early January!

That's great!
Btw, on CSUF portal, do you see any tasks on to-do list? Since I don't see any, *just curious.

I just know that CSUF used to only accept college freshmen or current CSUF student applicants to the traditional pre-licensure BSN program, there was no pathway for students who completed GEs and prereqs at community college and then wanted to transfer. Fall 2022 is the first time CSUF is offering that as an option. They said that the number of openings will vary from year to year. My guess is that they are accepting a limited number of transfer students to fill openings left by traditional BSN students who dropped the program, maybe? But I don't know for sure.
