CSUF Transfer-BSN Fall 2022

Published

Hey just submitted my application and was curious what everyone’s stats were…

Im still finishing up my last prereqs this semester but right now I have overall 3.93 GPA and about 3.69 GPA for sciences (1 B) and for TEAS I got 86.7 but might retake in december

Hello,

I'm also in the same boat. But I think CSUF doesn't require TEAS scores as part of their admission consideration.

I read online they don’t require TEAS. If they offer you a position it’s essay / interview process.
I overall have 3.7 GPA but 4.0 in my science pre reqs.

I took my TEAS but I didn’t do well. You have any pointers? I’m thinking of retaking it for more schools too.

I was just looking at the points system for the application and I didn't notice this before, but it looks like they use your english GEs, statistics, as well as the sciences to calculate your prereq GPA.  sucks for me because I have a 4.0 in the sciences (so far) but I got a B in stats.  it looks like my application is only going to be worth 65 points.

I emailed the school of nursing and they told me they're expecting about 5-10 spots open for the Fall 2022 Upper Division Transfer program, so I'm not particularly optimistic about getting in ?  I haven't taken my TEAS yet (I'm taking it after I do anatomy during intersession and then physio in the Spring)

what kind of points is everyone else applying with?

Hello,

Thanks for emailing on behalf of us. 5-10 spots seems difficult to get in? So how is the cohort is going to be? Is it gonna be a separate cohort from the other nursing paths?

May I ask how you calculated your total points to be 65? Based on this? http://nursing.fullerton.edu/programs/udtbsn/selection.php

As for TEAS, I think retaking it would give you more possibilities for other schools in the future. For CSUF, it's kind of odd when they don't require it since most of CSUs do otherwise.

Do you have any idea as to how long the essay is going to be and about?

I think I have 72 but it could be higher depending if they count enrolled as in-progress

Sorry if I ask you little bit more. How did you add up your points to 72? Do you have any B's or any in-progress classes?

Thanks a bunch!

Yep!  I used a GPA calculator for my prereq GPA and went off the points system on that page.

I didn't ask about the cohort, but tbh I was wondering the same thing once I found out how few spots there were.  I also asked them about admission rates for previous years, but they said Fall 2022 is the first cycle they've offered an upper division transfer pathway for.  honestly, I'm hoping they didn't get a lot of applicants since its a new program?  maybe not as many people knew about it?

Yeah, I guess most of us do.

I'm thinking the cohort for this new path will somehow join with other cohorts from other paths, just my speculation.

Oh btw, have you applied the supplemental application yet?

yeah, I would expect so.  it seems weird that they would have a cohort of just 5-10 people alone.  the website says that some years they might not have any openings for UDT, so maybe the openings are due to students dropping out of the regular BSN pathway?

I haven't finished my supplemental application yet, my current semester has a couple weeks left so I'm waiting to have the most updated transcript that I can.

I don’t understand what do you mean only 5-10 spots? They only take 5-10 students for transfer? Who gets the rest?
