Hi, just want to create a topic for ppl going to RN-BSN in CSU. I applied for F & LB since August 1. CSUF specifically said that don’t send in transcripts till I got the CWID. So still waiting ... anyone in the same situation? I wonder if I can go to school and hand the transcripts to them directly to make sure they’ve got it or they only trust it if send directly by my schools? ?

worst decision myself and fellow classmates/coworkers made, because our CC pushed us that route. NOT designed for working RN's, plenty of programs designed for working RNs out there, def not CSUF.
I understand csuf is hard but a working NP told me that she went there. It was hard but it’s the best decision she’s ever made because the reputation of the school alone opened doors for her and she had so much support from alumni that she met at her workplace. She thought the hard work was worth it. She didn’t work during school though, just some volunteer stuff.

I work in an ICU with NPs with none going to CSUF, not sure many people have the luxury of not working for over a year and just volunteering, than yeah of course it’s doable.
and I spoke with a recruiter from UCLA and USC NP programs both who said they accept a wide variety of students and primarily focus on experience and GPA, not ADN-BSN school choice.
If your able to volunteer and not work a year than it’d be a great fit and possibly manageable. But your losing out on income and experience by not working. When you can work and do a program designed for working nurses.
Hi,
The requirements are extremely outdated and cumbersome many pre-req nursing classes certain classes not offer Winter/Summer. The community health lab class is a huge nightmare that has pre reqs, castle branch has a million requirements.
none of the professors have been accommodating to working nurses or due to the Covid pandemic. No extra credit offered in any class. Class averages for quizzes and exams are c to b. Most if not all CRNA/NP programs require a minimum 3.0 GPA. Ideally 3.5+.
it’s all self learn and tons of group assignments expect to graduate in 1.5-2 years taking classes mostly full time. Everyone from my ADN program did not like it and very few graduated in 1 year or even 1.5 years full time.
at the end of the day there are TONS of Accredited programs and if you want to advance your career or not most schools look at GPA as well as for your own personal work life balance and it’s just a BSN. No one cares where it’s from as long as it’s a BSN and the hospital can check the mark that you have one.
I’ve gained very little from the program, as an ICU nurse.

Hi there! Can you message me if you ever see this? @arennlicious I was really interested in knowing your stats because I am in an ADN program right now ?
