CSUEB - Cal State East Bay Nursing BSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi All,

I was curious to see who else applied for CSUEB for Spring 2019?

I'm curious to see how the transition to semesters and the specific campus for Spring/Fall may have changed applicant pools.

Best of luck to everyone who applied!

Hi, can anyone help me out and see if I have a chance of getting in? I have a 3.76 gpa, 89 teas, and so far 100 hours of healthcare experience at a hospital. I’m not a native but I get 5 points for being a community college local and I’m bilingual. My main question is If anyone here had any luck getting the full 15 points with just hitting the 75 minimum hr mark assuming all other boxes are checked off (cultural, direct patient care, etc). I plan to aim for 200 hours but still not sure if this is enough for the full 15 points. I plan to apply for spring 2020 but I was hoping someone could reply to help me out. Thanks so much.

Hi, I had an counseling meeting with an CSUEB counselor not too long ago. Thankful he was quite informative about the requirements into the nursing program. As for the FULL 15 points, you will ONLY get 5 points for volunteer hours >75, regardless of how many hours you book in. He mentioned that one candidate did some outreach to the homeless in Oakland, educating about hygiene and that gave her 5 extra points. Not too sure how you can prove that outreach was completed though. I honestly do not remember what the remaining five points were, something in the line of 3 months of full time....?? LOL sorry, I cannot read the notes right now. But definitely reach out the nursing department for a full break down of this category. Hopefully that helps!

I also plan to apply for Spring 2020 as well.

Hi all,

I am applying to CSU EB nursing program as a second degree. I have a bachelors degree in psychology & public health science from Santa Clara, work at UCSF as a medical assistant, and have over a 3.0 in my last 60 units of classes with an 82% on my TEAS. Has anyone else in this forum completed the CSU EB program for a second degree? It is accelerated or are there breaks in between the 4 semesters?

Thanks for your help!
