U.S.A. California

Published

Hello everyone! I plan to apply to CSUDH's MEPN program in the fall of 2013 (for the cohort beginning in fall 2014). I am in the process of completing my prerequisites. I just thought I create this thread in case other applicants are interested in discussing various issues, such as the application process, why you're interested in CSUDH's MEPN program, your background (experience, undegrad institution, etc.).

It also says in My CSUDH that I have been admitted to the University.. :-)

I am taking patho and the research method utilization class right now. I also am finishing ip my bachelors degree this semester. My timeline: submitted portfolio in December, interview mid February and acceptance two days ago. I'm still on cloud 9!!! Do you plan on working during the program?

If anyone is looking for roommates or housemates near or around CSUDH for fall 2013 send me a private message. I would love to room with other nursing students so we can support each other and study together.

I was wandering if any of you guys that had your interview could tell me how it was and if the questions were based off our portfolio it would help a lot thanks! Congrats to those that got in!

Hi, the interview was basic questions typical of an interview. Like "tell me about yourself" kind of questions. It somewhat based on the portfolio.

I also got in for this cohort! I was an applicant last year and was reserved a spot for this cohort as I needed to re-take a course and was an "excellent candidate"....I am looking forward to meeting everyone! Congratulations to all!

Are you CNA certified? Do you know what the requirements are for that?

I'm already CNA certified. I did mine through the Red Cross but it is pricey $1000-$1500. But they had weekend classes at the Commerce, CA location, so I liked that feature. Full time it's usually a 6 week course 9-5. Or some community colleges and ROPs offer them. Shop around and check out the state board CNA website to find locations. Best luck!
