Hi guys, I recently started RN to BSN program in California State University, Bakersfield. My goal is to further continue my education and do FNP from UCLA. My question from all of you guys is what do you think about this program? and has anyone got accepted into UCLA - FNP program from this program?

I'm an NP in California. You just started your BSN program - congratulations.
No one can guarantee that you will get into UCLA for your MSN. That is the brutal truth. All you can do is apply. There are many good NP programs in California and elsewhere.
What you can do now is get the best grades you can in your BSN program, as that will be very important in getting into a good MSN program. In addition, develop good relationships with some of your professors and preceptors, so they will write a good letter of recommendation for you.
I see no reason why you wouldn't get into UCLA if you do well in your BSN program. I made a mid-life career change from business executive to NP. My original undergrad GPA was horrible. I went to like 6 different community colleges as well as UCLA extension to complete my nursing prereqs and I did get almost all A's (B in organic chemistry). I got into Johns Hopkins, UCLA, and Univ of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing.
Good luck!

Hi! I am thinking of doing this program. How are you liking it? I will be a working nurse with a 2 year old so I am hoping to get into a program that isn't too demanding time and work-wise. I am also worried about the 135 hours that they require for public health. Are you a working nurse also and how do you find the program to be? Thank you!
@yangy the program is okay. It is just too much work, now I am in second semester and I work full time. This semester I have clinical for community health so may be this semester is a little overwhelming for me, who knows. I think it is doable. The program is 15 months long and almost $16,000. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yikes, that sounds scary. Is it a lot of writing as in essays, discussions, group projects, etc? A lot of reading? I just started in the ICU and was looking to start this Fall but I'm not sure if starting the BSN this fall would be a good idea. Also, are they responsive to your needs when you have questions about the program as well as class assignments? I was thinking of Fresno State but I heard terrible things about that program that they don't care about their RN-BSN students. Was placement for community health easy for you? Thank you so much for taking your time to answer my questions!
@yangy I think you should start, the first semester is a piece of cake. It is too much work in second semester due to community health clinic otherwise it is truly not that bad. You just need good time management skills and excellent support system. The program is mostly online. Where are you located? I am from Palmdale, there are many students from here so we got placed easily. Yes, they do answer all questions promptly.

I am in the central valley about 1 hour away from Bakersfield, so hopefully I'll be able to get placement at the local hospital here in town.
How much work is required on average during the week? I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions! No one else has given me any input so I really want to thank you. ❤️
@baby.ICU.nurse The workload is okay, it is time consuming but now hard. I think you will be placed easily without a problem. Let me know if you have any other question.
