CSUB Nursing Fall 2020

Published

Hi everyone,

I'm opening this forum for those that are applying to the program beginning Fall 2020 ? My stats:

Prerequisite GPA: 3.81

Math/Science GPA: 3.73

TEAS: 84.7

I live about 2 hours away from the school so I won't receive the continuing student or residency points.

I also applied to CSUCI.

Good luck to everyone applying!

I have received an email from the admissions office and they said that we will not be given refunds for our enrollment fee regardless of the outcome. I don’t blame them but I’m blaming the nursing department. What is taking them so long that they want to give us our results until after the enrollment fee is due. It’s not fair for the people who do not go to CSUB.

I think it's BS honestly, and it's just a way to get extra money into the school. I'm sure they make some type of profit from students who apply, but don't get into their desired programs. IDK, that's just crazy to me. It's set up specifically so they are able to keep your money, regardless if you get into a program or not.

CSUB required an extra $50 I think to have transcripts evaluated, so in addition to the $130 enrollment fee, you're basically out $180 if you aren't admitted to the program. Doesn't seem fair at all to me.

Exactly! I know that I spent so much on calstateapply, nursingcas, and transcript. Also, I never heard of a school charging $50 just to evaluate transcripts. It’s totally BS. Luckily, I had applied to other nursing programs and I was accepted to a few.

Same!

Great news you guys! Admission office will give us extra time to pay for the intent to enroll!35A5E929-9C3B-457F-A624-FD600E635001.thumb.jpeg.16287d0c76367f8f84bc105ec9481d73.jpeg

What are they referring to when they said " the nursing department will not give their decision until later"? Are they referring to acceptance decisions?

Yeah, they are referring to the acceptance decision.

? oh great...? I figured this would happen with everything going on.. Did they mention how long acceptance decisions would be delayed?

They said that they will send out acceptance letters during the month of June.

Oh that's not too bad. Thanks for relaying the information and good luck!

So, I just found out there was a $105 transferring student orientation fee that needs to be paid by June 1st! Seriously, these fees are getting ridiculous. Plus, we still won't know if we've gotten into the nursing program by June 1st.

When will we find out if we are in the program?
