CSU Stanislaus Spring 2019

Published

Anyone else applying for Spring 2019? I'm transferring from MJC and just wanted to see other's statistics. Finishing up physiology right now at MJC and took the TEAS twice with my highest score of 82.7% (not very high, I know ). Good luck to anyone else that's applying! I believe the applications for Spring are due September 30th so don't forget.

I still haven't heard anything :( Does anyone know if all the accepted people found out already?

I am so nervous! I have applied too and have been anxiously waiting to hear back. I work with someone who was admitted last spring and she received her acceptance email Nov. 7th! I'm hoping we find out this week I can't wait any longer. Good luck everyone!

Okay that's good news then! Yeah hopefully we will hear back this week!!

Woah didn't realize so many people commented on this thread. Nice to see so many people applying to Stan as well.

I still haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. I don't think I'll get in though, my TEAS is a little bit on the low side (82.7%) and I don't have any healthcare experience. Also, I live in Stanislaus county so I don't get any points for that CSU Stanislaus residency. My science and non-science GPA are both 3.75 too so yeah :\ Good luck to everyone else though. It would be appreciated everyone would say whether or not they received the mail in the next coming week or two.

Hi Yaswei. I have even less hopes of getting accepted. While I have a 88.7% on the teas and a 4.0 on my sciences, I have a 3.7 overall and a 3.15 gpa in my non-sciences. I had a bad semester when I was taking stats and communications. I took those classes during my first semester, and now the have come to hunt me. I get points for living in a Stanislaus serving area and also for second language, but even then, my non-science gpa knocks me down to like 80 points only. It looks like most of everyone else has at least 90...

I'm not sure if you've looked into it yet, but if you don't get in the program this semester, you can always retake 1 of the non-sciences at a JC in the upcoming semester and if you get an A it'll bring up your nonscience GPA. Look into a college GPA calculator and put in your non science grades along with the units, the see if you change one of those C's into an A, how much would it bring your nonscience GPA up? Would it be worth it?

Also, I don't remember if you said you were getting the points for being a continuing CSU Stanislaus student or if you were a transfer student, however that could make a big difference in what you choose to do too. If you're a continuing student, would it be worth it to lose the continuing CSU Stan student points to possibly being up your GPA? These are all things to think about.

However, don't freak out until you get a response about your application. Who knows? Maybe you'll get in this semester! Good luck! :)

Hi Nursingprincess209: i am not a continuing student of Stanislaus. I am a transfer. Do you think I can retake that class that I got a C on at Stanislaus? Would that me taken in consideration instead? Because if I dont get in, ill try to take at least 9 units next semester at Stanislaus. That way i can get the extra 10 points. I was just hoping that i could use the units from Stats towards those 9 necessary units.

Hi guys,

I am waiting anxiously as well, and I'm disappointed every time I check my email and mail. Hopefully we'll be getting notices soon!

llmarkll1 when you transfer your courses (transcripts) over to CSU Stan, you won't be able to retake any passing courses. My friend tried to retake her anatomy course at Stan State (she passed with a C at MJC). However, I have read that you can retake courses with passing grades (like your stats and communication class) at other schools, but I don't believe you send in your transcripts...so you'll be starting from ground zero if there are prerequisites for the "retake course."--> But I'm not sure. Definitely do the research on how to retake courses you've earned a C/passing grade on.

llmarkll1: It's a little different for transfer students because you've already submitted your transcripts so you wouldn't be able to retake the passing class to get a better grade. If I were you, I would meet with a counselor and see if you can take the class at a different JC to bring up your grade. For example, you could take it online at Merced & if you get an A, you'll have better chances for the Nursing Program next semester. However, like I said before, don't worry too much now. Wait to hear back before you start making plans on what to do to bring up your nonscience GPA.

Guys the anxiety is killing me :( I've never heard of nursing students at Stan having to wait this long

Same!! I can't go to sleep without dreaming about it. I just want to know already. Has anyone called again to get an update?
