CSU PRE-REQ QUESTION!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am currently taking my pre-req's to apply to CSUEB, SF state, and San Jose state's nursing program's next fall. I was wondering what happens if you have taken 2 of the pre-req requirements in some areas; for example I have taken anthropology and recieved a B, and I have taken sociology and recieved an A. When they look at my pre-req GPA which one will they look at? I want them look at my A in sociology, but I'm not sure how this works. I have the same issue with 2 different critical thinking classes. Please help if any of you know how this will work, I'm hoping to keep my pre-req GPA as high as possible since the schools are soooo competitive right now!

I would call the school. My friend had the same issue and I think he said they took the higher class. I'd definitely call each individual school though as the info may vary between them.

with the csu's i applied for, most looked at sociology as a co-requisite. dunno if that helps, but i would assume they would look at sociology over anthro.

Sociology is a required pre-req (kind of redundant phrase there) for the nursing program at SDSU, while anthropology is a lower-div GE class. I would say they'd look at the sociology, but would call and make sure :)
