Are the pre-reqs difficult at csula? Im going in as a freshman for pre-nursing this year but I am starting to get a little scare I might not make it in.

What options does one have if they do not make it in?

No the pre-reqs should be the same no matter where you go.

The only thing different is at universities, the grades might be computed differently.

Oh and CSULA is on quarter system (I believe) and that is 10 weeks.

Can be a little short if your not used to it

All you can do is try your best. Get into the classes themselves (easier said then done) and try to work really hard and get As

Get some healthcare experience either by volunteering or getting a CNA job.

Here is a little secret: APPLY TO AS MANY PLACES AS POSSIBLE.

You may want to attend a certain program, but your not guaranteed in. Therefore to increase your chances in, apply to other programs. They mostly have the same pre reqs anyway.

If you do not make it in then you either try again next year, or finish a BS/BA in some unrelated field and apply to EL-MSN programs or ABSN programs.

Good luck

If you have the ambition and motivation to get into an RN program, then achieving an A in your prereq classes should not be a problem. As for class difficulty, it all depends on the individual and how he/she studies. From my experience, anatomy and microbiology were the two most challenging prereq's I had to take.

Hey everyone,

So for those of you who paid your $100 to the university, did you get anything from csula confirming your acceptance decision? (Besides the receipt) Because nothing on my csula portal or GET account changed. In fact, my green admission check mark turned into the green circle meaning "completed," so I am a little confused. My friend got into UCLA and accepted the school and got this super nice checklist of things to do now that she paid the $100. Just wondering if I need to call the school to confirm my decision..

@ darkI'm thinking it may be a good thing that u didn't receive a denial letter. At this point, if ppl received denial letters, it means the ppl who haven't received anything probably still have a decent shot because it's not a for sure no. And I'm pretty sure theyve already weeded out the ppl who are not even close to getting into the program. So stay positive for the both of us and imagine both of us in there! I was just thinking about how cool it would be to meet u at orientation and being able to put a face to a name. Keep your head up

Honestly, I have been thinking the same thing as well. I think, I am hopefully waitlisted which is better than being denied! Even if that call comes a week before school, I would be the happiest person!

And I am imagining being there! It would be great because its close to where I live. I could take the train if traffic sucks too much. If we get into the program, maybe some of us that live close could care pool to clinicals and stuff!

Thanks, I would really like to meet everyone on here as well. I know I can be a bit negative sometimes, but I try to be as realistic as possible. I know your score is really good and that maybe they decided to just forget sending emails and to just send notices by mail like originally planned? You should definitely receive your letter next week!

I think receiving nothing is better than receiving a rejection letter. We are still in the running. I am praying everyday day we get in!

It is just hard taking your mind off it ya know?

Since I paid my deposit electronically, I thought I would get more than a receipt from them. I haven't received anything. I am still pending transcripts too.

I will order some tomorrow and send them in so that I am set.

Since UCLA is a UC school, I would imagine they would be VERY different to how CSULA works. Paying the deposit is like saying your accepting your spot at CSULA. Check what GET says and send in your final transcripts and your good to go!
