hi,
i know that csu east bay accepts its applicant based on the point system. does anyone know what the minimum amount of points applicants have to get into the program?? san jose state goes by impaction score, so i was wondering if the same thing applies to csu east bay... Also, are the points for GPA strictly for the 5 prerequisite courses or for all of the 9 prerequisite courses? And last but not least, how are the points distributed for GPA and for the teas score..by this i mean how many points do you get for...lets say a 3.6 gpa and a certain teas score??

There's no "minimum" number of points you need to get into the program but anything around 85 and above is competitive. Both SJSU and CSUEB use a points based system (with slight variations). CSUEB gives 50 points for gpa, 40 for teas score, 5 for foreign language if you have one, and 5 for paid work experience. What's your teas score?
Multiply it by .4 to convert it to a 40 point scale and add it to your scaled gpa score and work exp/foreign language points. That will give you your impaction score. It really depends on what the gpa and teas scores are of the applicant pool that determine if your competitive. Try applying to other nursing programs as well. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have other questions.

CSUEB does not release the statistic of applicants like some schools do so there really isn't a "cut-off". I would still shoot for a teas score of 90 and above and keep your GPA as high as possible.
