CSU East Bay Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hi, I am hoping to hear from fellow pre-nursing students who have applied to CSU East Bay's nursing program. Do you feel confident you will earn a seat in the nursing program? A reply would be greatly appreciated.

I dunno if this will make you guys feel any better, but last year, a bunch of admitted nursing students didn't get things figured out with the school until deep into summer... and they were ok :)

I went in and it was very productive

I got into the concord campus!

I got my preference which was Concord too. Did everyone get their preferred campus?

It seems like majority of you guys are planning on Concord. Any one going to Hayward?

I'm a current Level 1 nursing student. I remember that it took them FOREVER to formally accept me into the university. It didn't happen until mid summer if I remember correctly. I called the university and my file was literally sitting on someone's desk waiting to be reviewed. It took until the last day before I had to be registered or something like that. I called several times and the lady at the desk would walk back to the analyst's desk and say she could see it sitting on her desk but there was nothing she could do about it. The analyst was backed up and my application couldn't be processed until she reviewed it. Finally she went back and pulled it out from the bottom of the stack and put it on her chair with a note on it and wrote urgent on it. My status changed to accepted the next day. All they have to do is confirm that all your transferable units are complete.

Typically, if you've made it in to the nursing program you've easily met the GPA requirements to get in to the university.

BTW, for the Concord campus students we've put together a Yah@@ group and FB group for you guys so that you will be able to contact each other and discuss things prior to orientation. It won't be administered by the school or nursing department but student run. After the May 20th acceptance deadline passes we are going to ask the nursing office to send out invites to all of you to join the groups.

For those of you in the Hayward program I suggest one of you set up your own group on either Google or Yah@@ and ask Lara to send an invite email out to your fellow students with a link to the group. It will really help you communicate and bond as a group prior to orientation and the start of school.

I am in the same boat. Have not heard from the university yet. I've been admitted to the nursing program in Concord.

I'd like to go to campus and talk to someone. Has anyone done this and was it productive?

Ok, so it was irresponsible of me to not check my MyCSUEB until recently, so I'm not sure if I've been given an option to register.

But this is exactly what's on my Intent to Register tab:

Intent to Register PT_PIXEL_1.gif PT_PIXEL_1.gif PT_PIXEL_1.gif PT_PIXEL_1.gif PT_PIXEL_1.gif All admitted students are required to indicate their intent to register to Cal State East Bay. At this time your application is still in process. Please return after you receive your admission decision.

Applications are reviewed as they are completed. Please visit your personal admission To Do List to view any outstanding requirements you may need to meet at this time.

So, I'm guessing that my application hasn't been processed since other students received their intent to register at the beginning of this month.

This is a great way to get acquainted with fellow nursing students that will ultimately be with you for the remainder of the program. Once the admission process is finalize, then I would more than happy to be proactive actually get things started. But for now, I'll just have to wait and see.

Im going to hayward. Lets make a group lol

Private me your email and I'll send you an invite to the group we've set up for Concord and that will give you an idea of how to set up one for Hayward. Once you do that then you can just send ------ an email with a link to the group and ask her to send an email to everyone in the Hayward cohort with an invite. Just wait until after the May 20th deadline to do that. Also assure her that in the invite you are going to tell everyone not to ask her about issues regarding the site because it will not be administered by the department itself.....
