Hi, I am hoping to hear from fellow pre-nursing students who have applied to CSU East Bay's nursing program. Do you feel confident you will earn a seat in the nursing program? A reply would be greatly appreciated.

It is going to be a long wait until April. The nursing program that I was accepted into begins the end of April. I hope my stats are good enough to get me in to the program.

Now we just play the waiting game. Good Luck!
faithkeepsme...I am in the same boat. I had to turn down a much more expensive program that starts this year due to the outrageous cost. With the way the job market is I just cannot justify that amount of debt. I will keep my fingers crossed that our decisions will pay off.

Does anyone know about comparisons between CSUEB admissions and those at CSULB and SFState?

You guys should hear from the program around March. The admissions coordinator should have sent you guys a letter stating when you would hear a response.
Also, they send out your acceptance letter through e-mail AND mail. I got an e-mail confirmation of my acceptance via e-mail in late April (this was way back in '09).
CSUEB's nsg program is tough, but it is def not impossible. We've also had a couple of people drop from the program due to the high level of stress it puts on people, so be prepared for whatever may come your way.
Good luck guys, and let me know if you have any questions.
Student.nurse: What does that letter tell you when you should hear back from the nursing department? Also when did you receive it?
I haven't even heard about acceptance to the university yet, have you mattma? I have been checking the website and there haven't been any updates posted.
student.nurse...I am curious to know what the schedule was like in your program. Is it a 5 day a week schedule? I have also read on this site what people thought were the desired stats to get into the program, but I want to know if there was a variety of GPAs and TEAS scores in your class. With the tough job market right now I am planning on turning down acceptance to a much more expensive program with the hopes of getting into CSUEB.
Blue22: I am already attending CSU East Bay so i would not know when you should receive your acceptance letter to the university. Sorry.
Wait until late April.. if you still don't get anything, give the department a call.
It is definitely not a 5 day/wk schedule. I can tell you that it's been consistent with 4 days/wk for each quarter (including clinical rotations). For my year, I think average GPA was around 3.6 or 3.7? I'm not quite sure so don't quote me on that.. although I can tell you that there were about 3 or 4 people that were WAIT LISTED and later got acceptance into the program. I think some people in the program even got a 3.4/3.5 overall gpa for pre-reqs.
As far as TEAS scores, people got results in the mid 80s range.. some have gotten scores in the 90s range.
If your GPA/TEAS score looks weak on your application, I highly recommend that you fill out the 2nd language form + health care worker application (if you've worked in a health care field prior to applying to the program) as these will boost up your chances of getting accepted in the program.
