CSU Chico Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! I couldn't find the spring 2019 forum, so I decided to start one myself. I am applying to chico for the spring 2019 cohort and was wondering who else is applying for this semester. I am applying with 92 points.

Thank you so much for telling me that! Good luck at Long Beach!

Cassieaustin, last semester when u did not get in but got ready to apply to the program, did you have to reapply to the csu? Or just to the nursing program? I mean technically you were already admitted to the csu and submitted your intent to enroll...

Yes, unfortunately I had to go through the whole process again and reapply to the CSU. After I was denied from the nursing program I had to call the CSU and deny my admission (that I had previously accepted in order to stay in the running for the nursing program). I'm not sure how it would work now since the deadline to apply to CSU's for Fall 2019 ended in November but I'm sure the Nursing Program will include information on how to reapply in the next email they send. I hope that helps!

That helps, Thank you. Have you heard back from the school yet?

Emails are out... i have 91 points, and i am 21 in the waitlist... thats crazy...

Congrats to all who got in! I can't say I'm shocked. I feel as though the last couple of semesters people found out that its a bit easier to get into Chico state and that's what led to the increased cut off limit. This is actually the last semester they will be accepting non-local students I believe. I had 91 points and that puts me on the 23 alternate seat which is INSANE. But I got accepted into Sac State and I guess that's where I'll be going! :) My friend told me they accepted 20 waitlisted people because people probably received admission decisions from other schools but I'm not going to bet on that haha. It was a couple semesters ago when the cutoff was like 88.

I just received the email saying I had less points than I had calculated. I tried calling and emailing the school to ask them if I was missing any paperwork but there has been no replies. Do you guys have any advice?

How many days do students have to accept/ decline?

This actually happened to me when I applied last semester. Are you a transfer? I don't know if this goes for your school but at my JC and all the JC's in my area anatomy and physio are worth 5 credits, and at Chico they're worth 4. The self calculator on Chico's nursing page assumes those classes are worth the same credits as yours. So although the calculator is telling you one thing, it could be incorrect. I would recalculate your science and overall GPA's directly from your official transcript using a GPA calculator (search it on google). I'm sorry that happened to you :( I really wish they would fix it so that you can input your real credit values and get your actual GPA so you're under the wrong impression the whole time.

*So that you're NOT under the wrong impression the whole time
