Has anyone submitted an application to the CSU Channel Islands Goleta Spring 2022 BSN program? If so, what are your stats, and have you heard from them?

I’m assuming that they are going to send us the zoom link tomorrow?

Do you guys have anything on your to-do list like sending in official transcripts and confirming intent to enroll?

Hi! I am also a transfer student. I do not have anything on my to do list for myCI. I created an account and sent my official transcripts when applying through NursingCas. I spoke with a Channel Islands Counselor as I was also concerned with the 3 step intent to enroll process and she informed me that the nursing program as a little different enrollment process than the school itself. She told me the status on myCI will say incomplete until after the decisions are made following interviews this week. If I were you I would make sure to create a myCI account and if you have not sent your official transcripts already I would do that right away. Hope this helps! Good luck. ?

If I did not receive an interview invite, that means I am automatically rejected??

I believe so. One of the professor said that 22 people will be admitted from the interview.

Unfortunately I think so. ? We did the interviews already last week and they said the people who interviewed will know after the 15th of November.

Don't give up though there are many things you can do to better your chances and re apply next year! If usually takes people a few times before getting in.

Honestly, it's a bummer but there may still be hope of acceptance. Keep in mind that just because someone gets an interview doesn't mean they are accepted into the program. Though, I wish they would just send out the emails already. Who likes waiting for rejection, I don't.

Yes of course there is always hope. It is rough waiting for that letter. I applied last year to the same program and got accepted to interview but then got denied. They made the decisions within the week. This time I was accepted for an interview and did the interview last week, now waiting to hear back! It is a hard wait but keep on pursuing your dreams!

I wish the journey was easy or someone had told me the truth about nursing. I followed this brochure from a previous school and it said do not receive a grade lower than a C. I got 2 Bs and 2 B-s, in my 4 science classes (ap 1 and ap2, Chem, Microbiology) and was told that it wasn't competing, then I retook ap2 and got an A but it's still not good enough. I'm observing that everyone who got a letter has 'perfect' stats (for example: 4.0 GPA and outstanding TEAS score).

Sorry to hear that. It is honestly sad for applicants competing for a limited amount of spots in California. Have you considered applying for ADN or other programs that are not local? I know that CSUEB isn't all about GPA or TEAS score. Even though I have decent stats, a lot of people's stats were better than mine and they didn't get in because they look at your overall (healthcare experience, local, other languages, community service, military service, etc.) A lot of ADN program, golden west, for example, give you a lot of points for healthcare, etc., and GPA and tea score isn't weighted too much.

East Bay gives you max point for 3.6 prerequisites GPA and max point for a score of 80 on TEAS.

Yes, nursing is definitely a very very competitive major. If you look at the channel islands nursing website you can see the breakdown of what makes you more competitive as a candidate. Of course GPA and TEAS scores are major factors but there are some other ways you can make yourself more competitive while waiting for acceptance. One of the best ways I think is work experience as a medical assistant or CNA in a hospital or medical setting. Other options would be taking a foreign language class or retaking the TEAS exam to score higher. Good luck! I am sure that you will be an excellent nurse. Nurses are resilient to these challenges because I believe all nurses face this sort of challenges.  Best of luck to you xx

East bay is all about stats, they don't care for minimum requirements. You will not get in with the minimum requirements, they accept everyone with high stats 3.8 to 4.0 and 80% and up
