Has anyone submitted an application to the CSU Channel Islands Goleta Spring 2022 BSN program? If so, what are your stats, and have you heard from them?

I also received an interview invite. Does anyone have an idea of what type of interview this is ?

I’m not entirely sure, but I think it could be one staff member doing an interview with 4 applicants at the same time.

does anyone know what the average stats (TEAS & GPA) CSU Channel Islands typically accepts? I couldn't find it on their site...

does anyone know how many apply vs. how many admitted?

TEAS above 75.

GPA 3.6 for sciences

Apply - somewhere around 300. I Imagine some of these applications aren't all completed correctly therefore the real number is probably 220.

Accept - CSUCI cottage program - 22 people admitted. 40 interviewed

This is for what they are looking for, not meaning they won't accept anything lower. If you have the additional supplemental criteria, that is very helpful. Good luck!

Hi everyone, a little late to this thread. I got invited to interview. Has anyone else been invited from this thread? I'm very nervous about interviewing! I got an interview last year too but did not make it into the program. I am really hoping to get into this Spring 2022 cohort. Hope to see some of you there too!!

My Stats are 97% TEAS score overall GPA 3.5 with Math and Science GPA 3.8. 2,000 hours work experience as a medical assistant for a reproductive endocrinologist. Associates in Liberal Arts with emphasis in Math and Science from Allan Hancock College. I'm most nervous for the interview portion because it is a group interview. I was hoping it would help us all to get involved and chat on here.

I interviewed last year but did not get in. Hoping to get in this time around! It's a group interview with about 5 other students and a panel of 3 interviewers. They rotate and ask individual students a few questions. They do not ask everyone the same question. Each student gets about 4 or 5 questions. Hope this helps! Good luck ?

That was how CSULB was! But they only asked one question each since there are a lot of student per interview panel. When is your interview? Mine is on the 26th.

Mine is also on the 26th! ? At 11AM. And yes it was very intimidating last time. That is rough getting only one question per student! ? Thankfully Channel Islands gives us at least 3 or 4 but overall it seems to move very quickly.

It seems like the interview is one portion of the overall point system that they are using. I think applicants get points added from the interview to their overall total point then the school compared all applicants to select the top 20 or so for the program.

Yes, I believe that is true. Last time they began with a speech saying how everyone who has been accepted to interview is academically and experience qualified for the program but because nursing is an extremely impacted and competitive major they do the interviews to make that final decision. This tells me everyone who is interviewing is qualified they just need the interview to make the decision who will go in for this particular cohort. I'm sure if they are having trouble deciding they will go back to our GPA, TEAS scores, and work experience to help in that final decision!
