Congratualtions and Good luck in Charity. I failed my TEAS exam Wednesday. No longer applying to Charity or continuing nursing career.
well that's no reason to give up completely. If you want something bad enough you go after it. You are not the first person to fail the TEAS and you wont be the last. We have all had our discouragements somewhere along the way for some its not getting high enough on a admissions test others its not getting into the school you wanted to get into. The secret is to not put all your eggs in one basket, so maybe you wont be able to get into Charity. It's not the only school.
Maybe the traditional route isn't for you there is plenty of LPN programs in fact my cousin is enrolled in a LPN program and she will get her LPN before I finish my RN and then shes going to do a bridge program while she is working.
Yes, I really do want this bad enough. I am doing so well in school b/c I am giving it everything I've got. While at UNO for by business degree I never put this much effort. I was okay with making C's. Now, I strive for A's and B's. I have another opportunity at taking the TEAS next year (have to wait 6 months) but I am so scared of failing again. That would really mean the end of Charity for me. Well, I guess right now I am just too upset and disappointed in myself to think straight.
Do you think its a bad thing that I failed the TEAS? I mean, would you say that shows I am not cut out for nursing school? Maybe its a sign that I will fail.
absolutely not....myself I do not take standardized test well.... never have never will... I can speak 4 languages ... not an easy task ... and I will almost always do bad on standardized computer test...but I did alright on the TEAS I got an 80 I think... and the only reason I think I got that was because I went into it with an .... eh whatever.... I didn't even crack a book.... but when I took the GMAT I freaked and crammed and did horrible.
and if I remember right I was getting questions about metamorphic rock.... what in the world does that have to do with nursing school?!?!
10 to 1 your problem was probably testing anxiety

In regards to your main question lam. I am also starting in January. Yes the medical forms are due by Nov. 2nd. I recently talk to the health lady and she needed a copy of my flu shot as well. I know that wasn't a requirement. Also, the admissions coordinator said that we should be expecting a letter in the next week for advising. She said the dates are Oct 5th thru the 16th... i think!! From what I heard from a friend who is already in Charity said that the advising is to make sure we have everything in line. Im not sure if we schedule our classes then or not. Hope this helps!!
thanks so much! i really appreciate it!
