Hello, everyone I'm new to this forum and I'm applying to CSN for Spring 2014. I was wondering if there are any other hopefuls out there?

I called about the orientation and they said it may not last all the way until 4, but maybe around 2. And it's vital to get there as early as possible to get the earliest number. I'm not clear about this whole system on that day, but I'll just go with the flow.

We got out at around 2 last year but when they had us pick numbers they had all of the numbers in a hat and we picked from there so being early had no bearing on your registration. I picked #82 and I still got my first pick for schedule. I would get there early because they have all of the schedules posted on he walls so you need time to look. I got there maybe 20 minutes early and I didn't have much time to look but I still got a good schedule. Then the week before classes began they cancelled my clinical and I had to pick a whole new schedule :/ but it still turned out fine.

So looking at the spring schedule online for the class are pointless then? Or should we still look at it to get an idea of what we want?

Well you can get an idea of when they offer certain classes, whether or not you want an online class... So yes it might be helpful to look. Also, you should be able to pick your own pharm section so you can take a look at those to see what might work with your 101 schedule.

Is everybody here already on Facebook?? How would you all feel about a private group/page for our class?? I see there are others on there for other classes...it may be easier to comment, discuss, and support what were going thru-while we are going thru it-on there. Let me know what ya'll think! Personally I think it would be easier to comment and post more often...but that's just my opinion :)

Also, they have changed my instructors multiple times so I wouldn't go by those names that are posted. I've been told that they just put names in at random at the beginning and don't actually set the name in stone till much closer to the start of the semester. So basically just look at the times to see what works for you. The majority of the instructors for 101 are fairly decent and you will learn something....now pharm is a different story. Pm me for more info :)

I also have a Facebook page for all CSN nursing students (future, current & past) that everyone is welcome to join. It's called CSN nursing students rock.

I would make a group specific to your class so you can discuss specifics about the class you're taking without everyone else reading it. For my class' page, we have a few people who are further along than we are as well as some that have already graduated, which is helpful for advice. Actually, once I made the page for my class, nobody used this site anymore :)

Make sure that you make a group, not a page so the information won't be public. Also, make the setting so that new members have to be added by the group admin approves all requests to join so you can try to regulate who joins the group.

I would definitely be interested in joining a Facebook support group for our class! Good idea aspiringnurse2014!
