csn RN program for this spring 09

Hi!!!

I recently applied for the spring 09 program at CSN. I am terrified to find out if i am accepted or not. I have all the pre-reqs completed and the all the additional ones too. I have a GPA of 3.5. But i am still so scared to find out!!!. I think in total i have 27 points. Someone can help please?:)

my advice: i heard that some students have taken up pharmacology before they entered the program. i'm not sure what criteria they have on this but nway, even if you can't take the pharm class, i encourage you to start reading up on pharmacology. go to bldg k & ask some of the nursing students in the program about the pharm book so while you're waiting for your acceptance letters, just go over (or skim) some of the chapters.

personally, i had a hard time in the first 2 semesters simply because i was unfamiliar with the medications. nurs101 is hard enough especially if you're new to the healthcare field. you don't have to memorize all the medications but at least, be familiar with the names (generic & trade names) and concepts of pathophysiology behind the medications.

for example, understand how epinephrine is used for asthma attacks and for cardiac arrest situations.

OMG! I cant wait til today's over.. I called CSn health department yesterday and they told me they will be calling people who got accepted TODAY!.. I am so worried because I only have 26 points and I have seen a lot of people out here with 28-30 pts!

Has anyone started the background check yet? I went to the website like the paper they gave us listed but am confused as to what to do from there, what do i click on etc to order this thing? or am i totally in the wrong direction and that you can't even do it on the website. Thanks.

i think you have to print the report.. it's available for ninety days the lady said we need a copy of our bg check!

but how do you get the report?? the paper lists that it costs $49 but where do you go to order it?

oh okay, http://www.precheck.com

sign up there it's the student check you have to enter the college and program takes a couple days. i called the customer service first while i was online and she told me exactly where to go. hope that helps!

oh ok thanks so much for your help!! Will get on it today, Yeah that's a tad confusing since the piece of paper didn't list anything about going to the student check section lol, they need better instructions.

Ok everyone now that we've picked our classes for semester 1 when can we register? I thought we were able to do it today but when I tried it said it is not my time to register. I'm option #12, how about everyone else?

check the catalog i think we have to register same time as everyone else. for clinical also i think you have to get a signature to register for that and go in line at the registration building d. best bet go to school on yer day of registration in case someone in building k has to sign for you to get yer clinical. otherwise if yer registration day passed i think wed. is the day we all can register!
