CSN RN FALL 2013

Anyone here applying for fall? :)

I have all the books but there are a few semesters old so not sure if they are still good. A friend of mine graduated from CSN a few years ago and gave me all her books. I have my CPR cert and my hep B shots but not sure what other shots we need. I just had a physical so I think I'm pretty much good. I hope all of us get the call on Thursday. Anyone else going for the part time program?

And, as far as steths getting stolen, I haven't encountered that at all! I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just haven't encountered it. The Classic II is a great one. My stethoscope is always in my cargo pocket. I learned not to have it around my neck because it fell in the toilet as I was dumping urine in :o Thank goodness they come apart*L*

Do we have to read these books before we start the program? Are there required reading prior to the first day?

Oh man!!! im so the same wayyyy!! Im so excited and nervous and everything all put together! I cant wait to hear when people start getting calls!! Im not sure the way they contact people but I hope its not alphabetical or im at the wayyy end! :(

I'm smack dab in the middle. I'm sure it takes a lot of time to make 150 phone calls. Ugh....

You can get titers done, which are cheaper. You need the Hep B series, chicken pox titer or vaccine, Tdap and MMR.

On your 2nd orientation you will get a lit of required books and recommended books. They will also give you the chapters/pages to read prior to day one of lecture.

You can find all the info, as well as the "physical" form that needs to be filled out via the health sciences link. There's a list of the immunizations too if you wanted to take a look.

You will also need a 2 step TB test...BUT, wait till like June/July to get the TB test and physical done. They will have to be updated every year, and you want them done after the semester is done to cover you till the end of Spring 2014! And usually at the first orientation they will have A Littman rep doing stethoscope sales. Can't promise this time because I'm not running it :o

Do you know if we get to pick our classes this semester or if they are doing the lottery thing? I really hope not.. Ive heard horror stories of professors that are aweful!!

I applied for the part-time as well. Couldn't quit my job, so part-time was the way to go!
