CSN medical requirements for RN program

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to get into the RN program for Spring 2016. I know that there are medical requirements like a physical, shots, etc. and I'm wondering if starting those now is too early. I checked the site and only saw a few documents on it but no date required. I want to time everything right and take advantage of my free physical but don't want to waste it by doing it too early. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there. I agree with Gilberto, come join us on the Spring 2016 thread. As for your question, there is no date on the website.

Applications are due Sept. 1st and acceptance calls are made the last week of October. We have a mandatory orientation in the middle of November and they go over all the shots, physicals, background checks, etc that we need to get done. They need to be completed and you must have the paperwork by the second orientation in December.

Now would be a good time to start on the vaccinations or get a titer test done. Most of the vaccinations are in a series and you need to have at least 2 of the series done before December. They had flyers for a place called The Vaccine Center that offers discounts to students, you will need a student ID to get the discount I think. The drug test and background check (and possibly the physical) need to be completed in between those 2 orientations. The shots you need are on the CSN Health Sciences website.

Good luck to you and I hope to see you on the other thread.

Summer would be the best time to get all your vaccinations and physical in check. They highly prefer that you don't have your vaccinations due midway through the semester.

Thanks everyone!
