CSM - College of San Mateo - 2019 applicants

Published

Just wanted to see for who has applied to the CSM ADN program. I applied last year for the LVN to RN bridge, but was waitlisted, so I applied for it again this year. Crossing my fingers.

@mariexo8 - got 'cha! Same for me at CSM haha.

@john3219 - I applied the LVN-RN route. I forgot to apply via the regular ADN route in addition to my bridge application, so I'm just waiting... patiently and impatiently.

Wait, are the 2 in the same applications? How does that work?

@mariexo8Apparently there are. So I sent in a mailed in application for the bridge. Then I was SUPPOSED to put in an online application for the generic program. I did not do that... So now i have to see who fails out the first year and if there's space for me. That won't be until end of May/ beginning June.

Oh no :( I didn't even know that was a possibility at CSM. I hope you get in!

Would anybody be comfortable sharing how many points they have?

Including the TEAS, I believe my point total is 68. What about you?

I think I have 71. Man, this waiting game is really making me go crazy. Thankfully, we are getting close! ?

Does anyone know when we should be hearing final decisions? Also, I heard that there are only 50 spots for the ADN but only 40 for the BSN -- can anyone confirm? I'm having trouble getting a response from CSM and SFSU.

Hi! I'm a current CSM/SFSU student, and can confirm that there are 50 spots in CSM's ADN program and 40 spots for the SFSU BSN bridge program!

Thanks for your confirmation and reply! How are you liking the bridge program? Did they base your entry into the bridge off of your merit based points or another way?

This is my main concern with going to CSM — that I will be accepted in the ADN but not the BSN.

I like it! The workload is definitely going to get heavier the second year though. You need to have at least a 3.0 in anatomy, physio, micro, chem, oral & written communication, critical thinking, and stats. If you have a 3.0 or above, they also look into work/volunteer experience. http://collegeofsanmateo.edu/nursing/docs/ADNFlyer2018.pdf

Thank you for this information! I was curious about the bridge program as well. Are the 40 BSN spots from those 50 ADN spots, or are they taken from elsewhere, such as the regular SFSU BSN applicants? When do you apply for the bridge program? I'm assuming if there's some kind of orientation that they could answer questions, but if you can answer them, I would greatly appreciate it!

Also moto.ri, I'm assuming we may know by next Friday or the one after. The e-mail confirming they received TEAS results said beginning of May! Last year, they found out on April 20th, so I'm curious as to why they're taking longer this year haha. But they found out a week after their deadline to submit their TEAs score, which for us is today!
