CSM - College of San Mateo - 2019 applicants

Just wanted to see for who has applied to the CSM ADN program. I applied last year for the LVN to RN bridge, but was waitlisted, so I applied for it again this year. Crossing my fingers.

Does anyone know if anyone else has been accepted or moved up on the waitlist since the orientation? I'm still hopeful that I'll get an email but I really won't know until July 11th when the deadline comes around.?

Hello, I’m going to apply for the nursing program for the next app period. I have done General chem 1 but they are saying it might not be accepted because they want it in the health science. Has anyone been accepted with general chem?

Hi Cindy, I can't remember exactly what the requirement was but I took Chem 30A at Mission College in Santa Clara and that worked for me. Not sure what other students took. Hope that helps.

Hello everyone!

Been lowkey stalking this thread to get an idea of what to expect with the app process as I am applying this time around.

Quick question(s): From what you remember, what was the timeline like for completion of additional things once accepted? I understand an orientation, finger prints and drug tests are needed. Am I missing something?

Hi @MurseyMcMurse !

From what I can recall timeline wise, once acceptance letters went out a general orientation took place about a month later (this you MUST attend to secure a spot for the program), then all background and drug testing needed to be done within a month/month-and-a-half after that....once all that is complete you are then able to move forward onto the actual orientation during which everything about your time in the program is detailed. Each clinical site may have their additional requirements, per hospital policy.
