crne critical thinking questions

World Canada CRNE

Published

I would be writting crne oct 1st 2014, does anyone knows the tips to answering critical thinking questions on the crne, have been doing lots of practice questions, still dont get the critical thinking...

Thanks, for the rationale...

Increasing fld, are RN's allowed to make that decision?

Sounds like you chose A. But the thing it is says "increase oral fluid consumption to 3L per day". That doesnt sound like something that would address the patient's needs right away.

B & C don't address the temperature.

So I will say go with D.

Honestly in the real world you would assess the patient more before reporting to the MD.

can anyone pls give the right answer to this question with rationale?

A registered nurse is caring for a hospitalized client with a diagnosis of congestive heart failure who suddenly reports shortness of breath and dyspnea. The nurse takes which immediate action?

a. prepares to administer lasix

b. calls the physician

c. Administers oxygen to the client

d. Elevates the head of the clients bed

Id say D.

These are all possible solutions but D seems like the most immediate thing you could do. Followed by administering oxygen, then calling the physician, and then giving lasix.

Since all the answers are possible solutions & it asks us for the immediate action, would it be a good strategy to rank from 1st to 4th each option for questions such as this.
