CRNA University of Miami starting 2021

Published

Hey everyone, I have started a thread for the 2021 CRNA cohort at the University of Miami. I could not seem to find one for this application cycle.

I have just applied and am hoping I get an interview.

My friend just got his denial email. Very bummed. Good luck to everyone.

Are you serious? They’re sending out denial emails already?

Was he interviewed? I am wondering if the denial emails that were sent are for those who did not get interviewed. Thanks!

Yes he interviewed in person before they closed. Yes he got a denial email.

I am sorry to hear that. I have been rejected so many times by 5 different schools. This is my second year to apply, I am hoping for a different result this time. So do not lose hope, keep going and keep getting better.

I also received my rejection letter today. What feedback did you receive when rejected, if any? Trying to learn from this experience and make myself more competitive for the future.

I received my rejection email today. Like you, this is my second time applying to this school. I am frustrated b/c the last time I was rejected, I inquired about what to do to strengthen my application and I was told to take a graduate level science course. I know this doesn't guarantee admission b/c each year you're up against a different pool of qualified applicants but I feel it was all in vain. Anyways, the advice I will give you (that has been given to me) is to stay positive, stay motivated and continue to work towards your goal of becoming a CRNA. UM is just one of many schools. I know people that have been rejected many many times and they've never given up. Some are CRNA'a now and some are still applying. Good luck.

I haven't received any feedback from this cycle but I applied back in 2018 and was granted an interview for the class starting January 2019. I have been out of school over 10 years so I was told to take a graduate level science course to show that I can handle graduate level content. I think each person's feedback will be individualized based on their strengths and weaknesses.

It is really long, I’m ready to find out already! I think 30-35 per class? I wonder how many they interviewed in total

I'm not sure how many interviewed but I heard that they received close to 500 applications.
