Hello All!
Is anyone applying to the Summer 2024 LEAP program and has insight in the program and interview process? Applications are due in almost a month and from what I read the interviews come quickly and are intense. Any tips appreciated!

Hi I also received an interview. After getting rejected going on the third year I finally received an email. Keep your head up and timing is everything. Don't give up on something that's meant for you.

You will be interviewed by all the directors of each of the programs in breakout rooms (typically 4 per room) and they will ask you a mix of clinical and emotional intelligence questions. Definitely be prepared to know how drugs work, mechanisms of action etc. If you don't, YOU NEED TO STUDY. In the lobby, the current students will be there to further answer your questions. Make sure you have good questions for the directors when they ask you, or they'll think you're disinterested/underprepared. Lastly, remain humble and try your best to paint a picture of who you really are and why you were put on this earth to be a CRNA. They want to see someone who is resilient and will go to any lengths to achieve that goal. I think I found out I got accepted within a week or two.

Based off your grades, I feel like you would be a good candidate to get into school/an interview without needing this program. Might be added debt and time tbh. I've known people with similar stats but excelled in their science GPA and other stuff. A school like Thomas jefferson would give you an interview. Try applying to more schools at a time and schools that particularly favor your stats. IDK about your other ones, but trying doing more to standout as well, interview prep, more shadowing, getting more involved on the unit via committees, preceptor, or charge, and if explain any shortcomings in your personal statement. Don't count yourself out,l just bc of a few schools, you're a good candidate, wouldn't want to see you get into something do demanding when you may not even need it. Majority schools don't give good candidates interviews and give rejections just bc their of their grades, despite excelling in everything else, but you have that, so it may be something else on your app. Good luck. But whatever you decide to follow through with, I believe you will be great, don't be discouraged
