Good evening and happy holidays. I was wondering if any nurses specializing in the specialty CRNA would be willing to share some of their insights and or experiences in this particular specialty. This is my final post of the three I've created. Thanks!

Hello and good afternoon. I thank you for taking the time to respond to my initial inquiry. I do have some specific questions. For example. I understand that all Registered Nurses must have knowledge of Dosage Calculation. From basic to the more advanced calculations. For a CRNA, however, where do the Dosage Calculations branch off into more intricate and complex calculations? Typically, what types of medications ( yes I know its anesthesia ) would you say a CRNA typically uses daily on the regular? Such as for any surgical operations? Could you give me a broad description of the daily life of a CRNA might look like on the job? I am pretty familiar with the steps to become a CRNA and I am beginning to differentiate the work/life balance but I would love any experiences that you guys may have had. For example. I am even considering, if I choose to pursue a CRNA license, possibly become a travel CRNA. A very important question that I have is actually the outlook for employment in terms of a CRNA. What is the projected job outlook like? Is the percentage of CRNA positions decreasing or is there a high chance of an increase? Thank you again for your time.

Hey there! There's a LOT of routes you can go once you become a CRNA; pain clinics, hospitals, independent practice... I've even interviewed CRNAs who've gone into aesthetics and legal areas! 🙂 CRNAs also remain in high demand-- check out this article on the projected Job outlook for CRNA: https://crnaschoolprepacademy.com/blog-is-CRNA-over-saturated-plus-new-CRNA-schools PS- 22 new CRNA Programs opened in the last year or so; that alone should speak to the Outlook of the profession. Here's more details on those: https://crnaschoolprepacademy.com/podcast/new-CRNA-programs-opening-in-2024-2025-should-you-apply
This has a lot of good details and insights into medications, dosage calculations etc: https://crnaschoolprepacademy.com/podcast/episode-10-open-heart-rotation-pharmacology-review
Hope these help!
