Don't lose hope! Most of us were young and dumb when we first started college (and if you weren't.....i'm sorry, you had no fun). I think most of the programs realize this. Like some others have posted, take some grad level courses. I took advanced pathophysiology to show that I was more mature and my priorites were different. If this is something that you really want, you will do whatever it takes and not let anything get in your way!! Good Luck
It is not all about stats, work in a high acuity ICU, take grad level courses. Most important do research on the programs you want to attend and make sure your schools will teach you lines, epidurals and blocks (some unfortonalty dont) and pay attention to class size. It may not be best to a CRNA farm.

Hello,
I am a future CRNA hopeful, but I am wondering if I have dug a hole to deep to climb out from. I have an ASN with around 2.88 gp from 4 years ago. (I was 17 yrs old when accepted, 19 when graduated..ie:young and dumb) I started a RN-BSN program the same month I started my first full time job. I took 16 hours along with full time work as a brand new nurse. Needless to say I did not far well. Failed one RN-BSN class from lack of trying and being overwhelmed. This brought my gpa to around 2.66. I took a break from school for a semester. I changed my focus from running wild as 20 yr olds do to school, work and my future. I changed schools for my RN-BSN to a more academic university, and finished with a 3.75 gpa. I have been a nurse in a Surgical ICU in a major teaching hospital (actually affiliated with the CRNA program I hope to apply for) for 2 years. I have my CCRN and scored 310 on the GRE. I am paticulary interested in Union University or UT Memphis if anyone has any insight, but I am open to all opinions in general on my situation. I want to know if I have a chance of being competitive with these stats?
So basically in a nut shell
ADN: 2.88 (was young and carefree)
immediately after...
RN-BSN: failed 1 nursing class...2.66 (still young and dumb)
took 1 semester off to reboot
RN-BSN at a more academic school: 3.75
GRE: 310
CCRN
2 years in SICU at a major teaching hospital
Thank you for your time and comments
