It seems like your more focused on the money aspect. Taking the easy way is usually not the best way to go, especially in the long run. As long as your GPA is above 3.0 you have a good chance. Most programs look at the whole package, not just GPA. Don't settle for less and go to AA school, be confident in yourself and do everything you can to become a CRNA.

The interview is not to bad. The PD will talk about the program and then half the group will interview and the other half will tour the facility. They will ask you general questions and also give you 2 senerios. All I did is go over the CCRN material. Good luck.

I am starting Drexel this Jan. I am takeing all 7 classes before I start. Taking 2 at a time is doable but will be a lot of work. I strongly recommed taking as many as you can.

I startt Drexel's CRNA program this January. I also submitted my app in July and beleive I received a telephone call in October notifing me that I had an interview and would receive an email with dates to choose from. I ended up interviewing in May and only took a couple of weeks for a decision. They do a rolling admission and admitt for the following year. Hope this helps

It is not all about stats, work in a high acuity ICU, take grad level courses. Most important do research on the programs you want to attend and make sure your schools will teach you lines, epidurals and blocks (some unfortonalty dont) and pay attention to class size. It may not be best to a CRNA farm.

I will start their program in Jan. 2013. I had a friend that took the accelerated BSN and he had no problem with Financial aid and said they were very good at getting you enough aid (I guess it depends on who you ask). I was very impressed with their program and faculty. They have a quarter system and you have classes for 10 weeks and then get 1 week off.

To be honest your science GPA is going to hurt you, most school look at those grades. Make sure you get A's from know on to boost up your GPA as high as possible and retake the sciences you did poor on and make you get an A in them. Once you get your BSN take a grad leve physiology course and do well in it. You still have a way to go to be eligible to apply, make sure you work in an ICU, get your CCRN and do the best you can on the stupid GRE. You can do anything if you put in the time.

I dont know much about those programs, but I do know that UPenn is around 120,000 for the program wich is twice most programs.

One of the points that i was trying to make was that if you dont like being a nurse (either floor, ICU, ect..) your not goint to like being a CRNA. As a CRNA you are still a nurse, and if you patient is crashing your ICU experience will come in handy.

PACU doese on count and will not help you at all. If you dont like being an ICU nurse then you might want to rethink going to CRNA school.

Does your CNA stand for Certified Nurse Assistant? If it does I would leave that one out.

Before you even think about applying you should at least have 3 years mim as an ICU nurse. New Grad nurses know nothing, so before you get excited make sure you like being a nurse first. I dont think any nurse is ready after only one year of experience, after one year your still a novice.

It is very important to have a competitive GPA (around 3.5) since about 90% of the applicants will. This will put you behind the 8 ball imediatly. Retake any science courses you did poorly on and also take some graduate level courses and make sure you get an A not a B. Some shools will calculate GPA differently, some will only look at you nursing and sciences and some will look at everything.
