How many questions are there one the exam? Do you take the whole exam or will it cut off if you get to a certain point one way or another? How long till you get results? If you do fail how long till you can retake the exam? Lastly, how much does it cost?

If you are currently nearing the end of the program your school will provide you with the Candidate's Handbook that answers these and other questions but I will take a shot at it. The certifing exam consists of a total of 160 questions or 3 hours. At any point after the 90th question if your score (plus the standard error of measurement) is clearly above or clearly below the cut score of 450 the exam will shut off. If your score + SEM is not clearly above or clearly below 450 the exam will continue until you have taken the maximun # of questions or time expires. Students usually get their scores within about 2 weeks after taking the exam. You can take the exam as soon after failing as it takes to pay for it and schedule another appointment at a testing center. I believe it currently costs $650 which includes your first years dues to the AANA. Hope this helps :)

how many times can one take the exam? Or is it different in each state?

one more question? How many times can you retake the exam or does it vary by state?

thanks
