I had good luck again and am going to change the department in the hospital. In the beginning of August I am moving to Medical and Surgical ITU. Can anybody recommend English literature? So far I only have a German book.

Hi, good luck with your move to ICU. A book you may find useful is:
ADAM, S. and OSBOURNE, S. (2005) Critical Care Nursing: Science And Practice. Oxford: Oxford University Press.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Critical-Care-Nursing-Science-Practice/dp/0198525877/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1216421729&sr=8-3
Woodrow is also useful, but not so detailed.

Don't forget the practice development nurse, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
Hope that is helpful.

Good luck from me as well, the links and reference that Mary has given you is what I have as well.

I've pasted a link to a useful website. I think it is a US site so lab values maybe different but I found it useful when doing my Clinical Examination course - also a colleague was impressed with the EKG section.
