Critical care new grad internships?

U.S.A. Washington

I am currently a first semester senior in Tn and am looking to move to Seattle or surrounding areas after graduation. Are there any hospitals that have critical care internships? How hard is it for an out of state student to get a job in Seattle? I am wondering where I should start looking.

Thanks for the advice.

Valley Medical in Renton (I believe) does CCU Residency. That is where I would start. If you are eligible to get a WA state license (you can do this from out of state) you should have no problems other then coordinating you getting here before the next session starts.

BTW, Renton is South East of Seattle.

Harborview has a very good new grad internship and they're expanding all their ICUs (done in June), so you're at a great spot to apply there. They're also the only Level I trauma center for WA, AK, ID, and MT, so see all the really "bad" stuff.

Good luck, wherever you end up!

I read on the website that "occasionally" new grads are offered critical care internships. Does anyone know of someone, or has anyone personally, gone thru the new grad internship at Harborview?

The website is pretty much wrong, since there were 15 people who got hired into the ICUs for our June graduation...dunno anyone who's gone through the residency yet though.

Oh: but you can't get hired into the TICU (trauma) right away...

For CRNA school, would you need trauma ICU or just the regular ICU that you said new grads got hired into?
